Oh well. It’s been a fun season.

Considering that we have 60 games left in the season, my guess is opinions are going to change significantly. As of right now Olofsson is a must to re-sign. Of the signed players, I think only Bjork doesn’t have a role next season (thankfully). Still lots of questions. Who are the 4 centers? Do we want Krebs centering the “4th” line. Will Krebs and JJP be ready defensively for the NHL? How much will VO cost to keep. Does he want to stay with only one more year until he’s a UFA? Will Jankowski come up and win the 4th line center job like Lazar did? Will KA think the lineup needs more veteran presence? Can Murray win a job long-term? Will R2 find a role? One injury and R2 could blossom with the right linemates. Could Eakin actually earn a new deal? If I had to guess Skinner Cozens Tuch Asplund Thompson VO Krebs Mitts Quinn Girgensons Jankowski KO. JJP starts in the minors as his 2 way game isn’t ready. Murray and R2 are re-signed and are the spares. Bjork traded for a 5th.

Just Another Guy. They are Bjork, Wolanin, Hayden, Caggiula, Eakin, and Hinostroza. Essentially guys who are easily replaced. Last year we had Sheahan, Irwin, Fogarty, and Rieder. Miss any of the them? Didn’t think so.

Oh I agree our goaltending and D aren’t up to snuff which is why I’ve been asking for goalie upgrades for two years, but that doesn’t change the fact that we still have 5 JAGs at forward nearly every game. Just imagine our offense with 4 good lines. We also have no firm timetable for the return of Mitts and Tuch. The other good thing about grabbing a DeBrusk is that his contract expires at year end but is an RFA. If he works out we can afford to keep him, if he doesn’t he won’t block any of the kids or if plays well enough we can trade him at the deadline or in the off-season for other assets. Remember Jbot traded Scandella for a 4th and then he was traded at the deadline for a 2nd. Ultimately this is about asset management. He is an upgrade over what he have now, we need scoring wingers long-term and have the cap room to taken on his contract. He won’t be expensive to acquire and is young enough to be part of the future here if things work out. Otherwise, we also aren’t making a long-term commitment. This is essential what KA was trying to do with Butcher but with a higher chance of success. Essentially we got a 5th to take Butcher and most of his contract. KA was hoping he’d excel with a fresh start and that he was young enough to keep if things worked out or to trade at the deadline for additional assets.

We are playing Hayden, Bjork, Caggiula and Hinostroza most nights. We don’t have to enough good forwards.

Welcome to the not so secret tank. Score 4 goals a night and still lose. The Sabres are currently 15th (64 goals) in GF, but are -13 in differential. Our 77 goals allowed is 31st.

I agree We failed to control rebounds on the 2 and 3rd goals. He also didn’t cover up on the 5th goal. He also shouldn’t get beat on slapshots he can see like on the 1st goal. Yes, he didn’t get much of help, but rebound control has been an issue of his for his career.

Another game we might have won or at least earned a point if we had real goaltending.

Now has 1 more then last year in 31 less games.
