Either way it’s sad. Reinhart should of been a Sabre for 10-12 years. He’s a good player that couldn’t take another year of this. He will do very well in Florida.

I was about to be ecstatic with Lundel, now I’m scared. No way it could be a 7th round goalie and a high pick next year (because Florida is good). That’s a fleecing.

Eklund and Beniers will probably make a difference much quicker... but they are not the top end of elite or generational. Power will be priceless in the playoffs say starting 5-6 years from now. Defenseman take a longer time to develop but they are the foundation of modern hockey team (especially ones that drive play from the back end) along with a franchise goalie. Look at the final 4 this year. Dahlin and Power give you that, albeit it will take patience to see this come to full fruition. 1. Power 2. Beniers 3. Eklund 4. Hughes 5. Guenther 6. Mactavish 7. You do not trade to lose. You need a Lafreniere type return or do not do it. Franchise centers should be expensive.

The only thing that gives me hope is Granato can develop youngsters and knows how to use the troops the right way. Other than that it’s clear this team is going super young. Be ready for more tough years.
