Omicron is just starting. We had 0 cases not long in Florida just a few weeks ago and they just had a plane stopped on an international flight from Miami and 17 people tested positive for Omicron. In 30 days it will be everywhere. Lots of unknowns as this thing is mutating so rapidly. I would not be surprised with another shortened season.

NFL should consider shutting down as well. It is absurd the Browns had to play that game last night. The whole season is now getting effected by this Covid out break and it is going to get insanely bad the next several months. Imagine if JA or Mac Jones tests positive this week in such a huge game?

It gives Tage a week to get healthy.

Subban keeps us in again. Take away the power plays and we are winning. I think this team is starting to grasp Granatos philosophy. With some decent goaltending we can make progress and win games with a lower skilled roster.

Sticking up for your teammates are always good penalties. Sir, I have not spent much time on my past posts questioning their physical toughness at all. It’s certainly not “all I do”. I think you are reading in something that’s not the case. I simply stand on my opinion: that was not a smart penalty to take. There are times when a cross check or fight is good. Yet another instance of a dumb penalty of unnecessary physicality makes it 2-0.

Give credit where credit is due: Subban kept this a game. Definitely need to press more next period. 21-5 in shots is not good.

“All I do is complain they are not tough enough”???? I haven’t said a thing about toughness. I’ve made some complains about bad passing but haven’t we all. Not sure where you are getting that from. the Tage penalty was a good penalty. cross checking someone blatantly on a low danger play was probably not a good idea. You have to be smart on the penalties you take.

It led directly to a power play goal. Did it not? You think the Pens are scared now? There are ways to be tough and take that penalty the right way if you do it. Like in a scrum in front of the net and making that guy feel it. Giving the Pens free power plays is not a good idea.

And then there is option 3: being careless to be “tough”. It wasn’t a smart way to do it. Thus the Penguins scored.

I know it’s a small sample size but UPL looks ready. If this continues it will force some tough decisions. Granato had basically said a few interviews back that it’s a shorter call up he can use to get experience to make the most of and he didn’t want to get into the temptation to use too many Rochester players this year. This may get interesting.

The bottom line is UPL is giving us decent goaltending. He gave up a few softies but boy has he made some incredible saves. You can win a lot of games only giving up 2. KA has a dilemma on his hands if this keeps up.
