  1. Yep agreed. This also goes with the narrative I've heard that the English Premiere League uses this kind of technology at an advanced level. I've also heard some rumblings from past management (including Botts) who praised the Sabres analytics department. I was unsure of the hire at first but I'm getting on board. He seems like a natural leader and maybe a great fit for the organization today. This young teams needs a true leader personality as a coach and someone that can effectively maximize the analytic department that is already established. He checks both boxes in spades. Let's surround him with some assistants that thrive with x's and o's and this could turn into something special. I've been fooled before so I'll wait for actual results but as of June 5th let's go!
  2. Yep. And the job was essentially offered to tippet but based on salary structure and timing of everything I think it’s clear to see botts had Krueger ranked higher than tippet. Again, disproving this source has any accurate knowledge of the way things are operating. Also like to say that I LOVE reading the latest rumours etc but I’m very impressed how little info is leaking out of the sabres now of days.
  3. You will have to excuse him. He’s been fasting for awhile now ? @New Scotland (NS) - just a couple more days of Ramadan. Almost there!
  4. Ya he has no source or atleast isn’t always accurate.
  5. Sigh.......I hope this works out..... Completely agree. If he walks he walks. This is a more than fair offer to Jeff imo.
  6. No ***** way the leafs get out of another awful contract (even if only one year left). That team is cash strapped, has to sign Marner and somehow fix their d. Nobody better be doing them any friggen favours.
  7. Although I completely agree with you the last two sentences were completely unnecessary.
  8. Fair. I can take that conversation over there.
  9. @nfreeman - Are you saying you would rather give a big 8 year deal to Skinner over Reino? Usually we're on a similar wave length but I could not disagree more if that's what you are saying.
  10. Wowzers. This is a very bold take. Those are unrealistic expectations imo. He's only scored 35+ twice in his whole career. No way he's a lock to do that the next 5 straight years. Also, what 'playoff type goals?' He's never played in a playoff game and his scoring dried up late last season when the Sabres needed him most.
  11. No chance I'm going near 76. I honestly don't know if I'm getting to 72.
  12. I agree with you. But because Skinner wouldnt' do it shows a bit that it's not necessarily in Buffalo's best interest to get to his number either.
  13. I will say he's damn good when he's on and he's a great fit to play with Jack. However, I wonder, based on his size, how he performs when the going gets tough. He went on that big scoring drought late in the season when teams tightened up and frankly the Sabres needed him most. He's not a perfect player. He's very nice but I don't want to overpay for very nice to be honest. I wish I knew how good he would be in the playoffs but he has never made it. I donno. Again, I really like him but there are a couple of red flags and I'm just not willing to overpay for him.
  14. Man it's alot. It better come with no NTC/NMC. Even then the last 2-3 years scare me. I'm more confident he won't fall off a cliff year 2 like Okposo but I'm also not confident in what he's giving me the last couple.
  15. All of this just screams to me that Botts had the choice between Tippet and Kreuger and HE CHOSE Kreuger. That's all I could ask for is Botts got one of his top choices. It's on him now.
  16. Completely agree with this. Thats why 8 x 8 makes sense to me. You get to that 64.
  17. Oh for sure. That's why I don't think there's any way I love the look of this deal having it 8 years. If there's a good shot he's not worth it as a $7 mil player the last 4 years of the deal (which I agree with) then he will quickly turn into an Okposo contract for 3 or 4 years. If he's not worth $7 and we're paying him a cap hit of $8.5 or $9 then that's where teams can get into big trouble (as we've all seen here). Then so be it. I wouldn't go over 8 if you're talking 8 years. Should add that I'm fully aware 8 x 8 won't get it done but to me it's fair. I think it's a decent team price for the next couple of years, fair for both through the middle and there's a bit of a decline relative to cap hit later in the deal. Use some Pegula bucks to front load and pay in bonuses or whatever maximizes Skinners return.
  18. I would even go 4 years at $10 per. Much rather that than 8 x 8.5.
  19. Man 8 years is tough to stomach. Let's hope he stays healthy and keeps his legs into his 30's.
  20. I’d love to see their second round rate. Who is the last second round Sabre who has made much of a contribution? Considering the past quantity and quality (top 10) second round picks it has absolutely killed this franchise. McCabe 7 years ago? I guess there’s some hope for the new guys (mainly the goalie) but wow there’s been very little in the second round over the past decade.
  21. For sure. Still not taking on that contract for Raddysh.
  22. Ya that is a sweetlou trade proposal for sure. No way that’s a big enough prospect to take on the contract.
