That’s fair Liger but just because they prefer USHL D it does not make it a lazy pick. They obviously are using this as a strategy. Puck moving D are so important today. The Montour trade shows that’s botts preference to go with mobile D. We don’t have a ton in the system now.

What are we thinking in terms of development? Similar to Casey where’s he’s a one and done but this time in the CHL?Does he get a look at all early this season with Sabres if he thrives in training camp? Or is he going back regardless (as he probably should)? Only issue with CHL is its sabres or Lethbridge next season right? Ineligible for Rochester?

Awesome. Perry was great on those early ducks cup teams. I like that his style seems unique to what the sabres have now.

This statement applies to literally any prospect you would have taken here. Late first round /early second take a few years to develop. That is not specific to who was picked. just adding to your point as I think that’s what you were saying.

The knee jerk reactions are quite commical considering the odds of a 31 OA making and the very limit into the vast majority of people are going off of. Have your opinion sure. But to be that upset over 31?

If we just drafted another Montour than our scouting staff is amazing. I don’t know anything about this guy but if he ends up as Montour in a few years I have no problem at all with the pick.
