ask Carolina and Colorado what a few trades can do. You’ve watched the Sabres forwards the past couple of years. Was it not insanely obvious changes had to be made? Johansson and Vesey? Everyone kept waiting for the other shoe to drop but it never did. Get creative. Nobody had the stockpile of NHL D we had/have to make a trade either that I’m aware. It’s incomprehensible anyone thought this F group could get us in the playoffs. Jack is playing at an mvp level, they’ve barely had any significant injuries (skinner just got hurt) and the team scoring must be bottom 10 in the league again without even looking.

We can focus our attention on the ROR trade all we want. It’s what happened this summer or lack thereof that has sealed his fate. You just cannot piss away another season and without upgrading the forward group that’s what was going to happen. Everyone saw it coming and shocker, that’s how it’s playing out.

Yep. When he came it seemed everyone and their grandmother were pumping his tires. He was the next up and coming gm we were lucky to have. Wow something here is going terribly wrong pissing away another season with Jack and especially with him playing at near mvp level. There have been a couple of injuries but nobody except JBott thought this forward group was good enough coming into the season. Nothing has changed. There is something to be said about continuity but JFC they have to make the change at GM if Sabres finish bottom 5 in the nhl don’t they?

This is a fantastic idea! We have our regular crew here that play each year. I know it’s not for money but having a trophy that gets sent around is such a good idea.

Yes a big congrats to @WildCard for taking home the 2019 championship! As we have been accustomed too it was another very competitive league. I regularly win leagues with other buddies yet cannot even make the playoffs in this one. I intend on running this again next year and similar to years past if you want in again you have first priority if you were in this year. I don’t have to know now; I’ll reach out in August. What’s everyone’s thoughts on having 6 teams make the playoffs next year with the top two getting a bye? I wouldn’t mind seeing that but if majority wants to keep it as is with 4 playoff teams and no byes that’s cool with me too.

It's Team Canada. Most of their roster is filled with first rounders or other high draft picks.

I’m just waiting to hear from @pi2000 Right now I think it’s jack and not even close. Then when you factor in jack has what $2 mil less long term cap hit (Pi was right about AM holding out for the absolute max cash he could) it becomes even better.

I’m not sure this is a hockey Canada political thing. They probably put more weight into the months of watching the players leading up to selection camp than a two game sample size.

I’m not really buying that but who knows. I think they hope Dach will be returned for the tourney and the forward group seems pretty strong on paper this year.

Honestly been like that since year 1. Great that everyone is always in making lineup changes and waiver wire adds. For a non money league it’s very competitive which is awesome. Usually keeps the standings pretty tight.
