  1. Can't wait to see their rankings tomorrow!
  2. Even with an average goaltender I would put them in the 3-10 range with the insurance policy that they are one serious JT injury away from a high probability of a top 5 pick. Although there is the slim potential Wang sells the team or is willing to spend more money (unlikely) and Snow can convince a top 4 Dman to join the team. That would obviously really help them. It is a very interesting situation.
  3. Yep, I agree with all that. Plus they had Vanek most of the season and still stunk. Tavares was there for most of that terrible season as well. Yes they needed to upgrade their d/goaltending more than adding a great winger to play with JT. However, by losing Vanek they are going to have to improve their d/goaltending that much more as they may not have the forwards to score 4+ goals regularily to bail them out. I'll be happy taking the German Wayne Gretzky or Dal Colle this year, I'll be very happy if we get next years pick. For once, thanks Darcy.
  4. We're getting close now boys!!!! And girls!!!
  5. Hahhaha, I kept checking here for the April calendar too. It will usually get to August and I'll still have my April calendar as my desktop and feel the need to change it to something else for a couple of months.
  6. I suppose that's true. I just felt like we already had a big discussion about that point like 4 or 5 days ago. I guess we have changed his opinion a bit. At first it was 8-15, now he's not so confident and has changed it to 8-14 :flirt:
  7. If that's the situation then ya, get him in the lineup.
  8. Guy looks like he's 40.
  9. That makes sense but I can't see it here. We don't have to sign him this year correct? Can't he go back to NCAA? If so and we still hold his rights I don't see the benefit of burning a year on the contract so he can make the jump next year when we're all anticipating being a bottom feeder anyway.
  10. I completely agree with this. But the way he looked in OT he was showing no ill effects of a concussion.
  11. No way Murray is dumb enough to burn a year of his ELC by playing him this season. I'm thinking Shrader has to be right about this.
  12. I watched the game late in the third and the overtime and Bennett was out there all over the ice. No serious injury at all from what I could tell. Although it was OT of a Game 7 so I guess he could have been playing hurt. Didn't look like it to me though. With the Petes OT win they now take on my Gens in the second round. It will be fun watching Dal Colle against Ritchie but it sounds like Ritchie may go in the 7-10 range and he is likely not high on our radar. If Kingston had won in OT last night we would have played Barrie and it would have been a Dal Colle vs Ekblad matchup. Oh well, I guess it could happen in the conference finals.
  13. You must have been in the same section as me. Guy was a tool and I'm glad him and a bunch of people from his group were taken out by security. I think they were allowed to return but periodically throughout the game security would call out more people from his group. I just want to throw out there that there are many other Canadian Sabres fans at the game being very respectful and I was happy the Sabres had the moment of silence. Additionally, I always give a standing O when they announce the war veterans at the game. I hope you won't judge all Canadians at Sabres games based on a couple of these yahoos. Another strange thing is they were chanting Go Leafs Go for a bit. Then there was this other guy a few rows over who didn't seem to be with them stand up, take off his jacket and he's wearing a Leafs Suck Tshirt and he starts chanting leafs suck. Never thought I would hear both a go leafs go and leafs suck chant at a Sabres / Lightening game.....
  14. I will also be at Pearl Street before the game. Buffet on the third floor I hear.
  15. I'll be up in the 300's with my wife and son. Really looking forward to it!! Although I'm not sure I'm looking forward to the game nearly as much as this ceremony and the beer and wings involved with any trip to Buffalo.
  16. Although I agree with this, by helping the Amerks make the playoffs it will give some of our young guys some playoff experience which in turn will help the Sabres down the road. I think it's very important for guys like Risto and Pysyk to play in the AHL playoffs and there's a good chance Grigo's junior team will be eliminated soon and he can get some AHL playoff hockey in this season too. I would be totally fine with the Sabres going with Hackett and Markov or someone on the big club and sending back Risto.
  17. I agree with this. Basically the kid was identified as a superstar very early in his career and to have him reach the NHL as a potential first overall pick that does tell you something. I want Buffalo to go forward but I'm also not buying this talk that he's only dominating the OHL because he's physically larger than the majority of the players. The kid has an unbelievable shot that has nothing to do with his size.
  18. Don't do it man. Not worth it.
  19. As someone living in the GTA I really hope the Bills stay in Buffalo. I love going up to Orchard Park for the games. Having said that, here is an interesting article from the Star today. http://www.thestar.com/sports/football/2014/03/25/ralph_wilsons_death_opens_door_ever_so_slightly_for_nfl_in_toronto_kelly.html
  20. He was. Connor McDavid was also granted exceptional status and at 15 put up 66 points in 63 OHL games. Not saying Day won't be good, just saying there is no generational player in the 2016 draft as there is in next years draft.
  21. Hahahah, I realize you're being facetious but very early on whispers are Sean Day, a Dman for Mississauga. After watching the series against the Gens he has had some real poor lapses that have led to Gens goals. There is no other Connor McDavid for the forseable future and the Tank ends in mid April 2015.
  22. I certainly want a forward to be drafted but I don't agree that Ekblad is not needed on this team. We're in last place, by a lot. Yes our D pipeline looks stronger than our O so I would much rather a forward. Maybe you just meant you would prefer a forward to D because this team is not so deep on the back end that we don't need him. Also, I think we're tanking next year regardless. In fact, I think Bennett would benefit much more from another year of junior than Ekblad. I think Ekblad is likely the most NHL ready prospect in the draft so by taking a forward with our pick it almost moreso signals the continued tank (which I think will happen regardless of who is selected).
  23. You vomit when you're angry?? Dal Colle with another brilliant evening last night scoring twice in Oshawa's double ot win. He also had a beauty shot in the second overtime which I thought was going to end it but he got absolutely robbed. If we get the Isles pick this year I would have no problem at all taking this kid. He looks like a man amoungst boys out there. Scott Laughton is a great Philly prospect but Dal Colle has played way better than him in the three playoff games thus far. Missy is not a great team but Dal Colle has 4 goals and 4 assists in the first three games.
