Yep. Reinhart is nice but another full out tank here can set us up for a long time.....
-
I agree with you Glass Case, but haven't we heard all season how weak last years draft class was? I know he wasn't the first forward taken but Drouin likely would have been the first forward taken if he was in this years class and Tampa sent him back to juniors last year. I loved the Reinhart pick at the time and still love it but I do not want another Grigo case on our hands. It likely won't happen but to me the kid still needs to get bigger and stronger.

Christ they better not do a patch job on this team after all of the dismantling to get us in the McDavid sweepstakes over the past three years. As someone said, you run Flynn out there and see how it goes.

It may never be like WNY, but I think the whole experience would be much better if the Bills were Toronto's team. For example, I'd be far more excited if Blue Jays relocated to Buffalo than if they gave us a token game at the ballpark.
Although this may be true. The only way they would make the experience close to what it's like in orchard park is if they relaxed the public drinking laws and built a nice new stadium that would have to be in the burbs. But even then I still wouldn't want to even imagine how high the avg ticket cost would be.

Last day before a four day long weekend....oh wait is this the complaint thread?
-
As someone living near T.O. I can safely say that I am with the majority that want the Bills to stay in Buffalo. The Toronto series was an utter failure and after attending two games I can say that I would MUCH rather make the trip down to Buffalo for the game. The drive really isn't that bad and the vast majority of the time the boarder isn't bad either (except American or Canadian thanksgiving, I'll never go to another Bills game either of those weekends.)

I could see a majority of the Carolinas, or Arizona, among others, being more than happy gaining those two for that pick... :P
If they weren't in the same division in both sports I could see boston. Imagin Brady throwing to Watkins?!
-
He could trade CJ Spiller and Sammy Watkins for the first overall pick in next year's NHL draft. Looks good to me.
For the last time , nobody's trading away the mcdavid pick!!

Ignoring the bills for a second, from a sabres perspective, would tp buying the bills be a good thing, negative thing or neutral?
Some positives include an nfl team bringing in huge revenues he could possibly redirect to the sabres. However money hasn't been an issue so far. Negative includes this taking his full attention away from the sabres organization.

Bleacher report is what it is but it was a decent write up. I was surprised Carrier was not listed in the top 10. Then again I went through the list looking for who should be removed and I couldn't come up with one. The future is bright. ONE MORE TANK!

Based on all the talk about Derek Roy around here, I thought those were the kind of guys we wanted to get rid of.
I think if we can get Derek Roy points out of him while playing a polar opposite style game as Derek then we've got ourselves a great player.

The political situation in Russia and Ukraine will have a very definite impact on the operation of the KHL and the hockey labor force. The one Ukrainian team in the league (Donbass Donetsk) will not play this coming season. Ukrainian players may be reluctant to sign with Russian-based teams. And, if the rest of the world imposes heavy economic sanctions on Russia, which will almost surely be the case, that should also negatively impact the league.
In the short-term, I just don't see many top players lining up to jump to the KHL, especially non-Russian players. Thoughts?
Recent Toronto Star article: http://www.thestar.c...in_ukraine.html
Ya I read this article yesterday and found it very interesting. The drawbacks of the khl already include shady owners and long flights. The political unrest right now will just add to the negativity in playing in that league.

Here's a good write up on the guys expected to go top 10 in next years draft.
http://www.hockeysfu...-class-of-2015/
McEichel are obviously the prizes but man I love the sound of some of these other kids. With 3 firsts and 2 seconds this upcoming draft will hopefully change this franchise for the next decade +.
Thanks for the list Liger. Who knows how these kids will turn out for sure but Jordan Greenway ranked 14 has a very similar write up as Dal Colle who went 5th overall in this years draft (whom the Isles took). As many have stated, this is such a deep draft that I'm still glad the Isles kept the 5th pick. In my view, as long as the Isles pick is in the top 12 to 14, I still think that will be close to equivalent to number 5 in this past year.
-
I wasn't referring to you Blue. Also, Tank is right on, this was before even the Halak signing that some said a number of rookie D in particular are going to have a huge impact on the team. Maybe, but I wouldn't want to rest my hopes on unproven rooks. Sorry for derailing the thread.
-
Are you sure Shrader? Some are talking about throwing a bunch of rookies onto the Isles will make them into a playoff team.
-
800k must be near the league min. Wonder why he didn't get more if he is a legit top 6. I'm thinking he's either roc bound or the number 7 d.
-
I agree with you on 61 but I think 55 has a decent shot with the big club.
-
I think we're going to know a lot about this kid come February. Give him the majority of the year in ROC and if he plays above average then give him a shot up here. Based on what I saw he looked alright at the scrimmage but in no way was he dominant (from where I was sitting). I hear he played well in the 3 on 3 but that is almost to be expected. Give the kid space and he plays well, I need to see it come game time.
-
I think it comes down to something similar as this past draft. If there is a decent drop off then I want the d, if the players are closely projected then pick the best forward.
-
The way he projects for next offseason would've put him in the conversation for number one this year.
Yep. It's a deep draft, just not sure it's that deep haha.
-
Barzal at 48 is ridiculous. Looks like a writer trying too hard.
Beyond rediculous. He will be a top 10 pick come next June.
-
Looks like I was mistaken as Bob Mac had Bennett ranked 5th at the start of last year although ISS had him ranked 9th and Draisaitl 10th.
However, I was right about Drouin as he doesn't show up in Bob's top 10 rankings in September 2012.
-
I wouldn't look too closely at the top 5 picks yet other than the two guys at the top. If we miss out on them there always seems like big risers and fallers throughout the year that will change the look of the top 5. Last year I don't think too many people had Bennett going in the top 5 of the draft and I think the year before it was Drouin that raced way up the board throughout the year.
-
Ya I guess I'm likely one of the few on here that is having fun with the tank. I won't consider next season unwatchable at all. But then again I am very pro tank and want to see how we end up doing, along with the Isles and Blues. As others have said, I've got one more tank left in me and after this draft I'm done with it McEichel or not. At that point we should have some very good core pieces moving forward.

Missed the game last night. Anything at all to take from it?
