So who are we all going with in these Game 7's.
I'm feeling
Rangers, Wild and Kings.
-
Still. 3 2nd rounders are fine by me
4 would have been better but ya I'll certainly sign up for 3 seconds.
-
Didn't realize we may have 4 seconds! Last year we had 3 and it felt like we were constantly picking in the 2nd round.

Reading a lot of mixed hatred for a bunch of teams in the East, gotta say I approve of it all
Curious, who is everyone's least favorite teams? I'd assume a lot of it has to do with what time period we have gotten to see the Sabres so far.
I'm pretty young, so my top 5 most hated teams, in order, are:
1) Boston
2) Ottawa
3) Toronto
4) Philly
5) Pitt
1. Toronto
2. Toronto
3. Toronto
4. Boston

Does anybody really care about day 3?

:flirt:
Typically I just give somewhat farfetched trade ideas. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure why I just didn't put this in the "What would make you give up the tank" thread seeing as that was what I was trying to get at. Would these stats, regardless of their outrageous magnitude make you still feel ok if the season ended with us ending up with the 9th or 10th pick.
Zadorov 76gm 22g 40a 62p <----- Random spectacular surprise performance
Girgs 79gm 25g 50a 75p <------- Overachieving our expectations
Myers 70gm 12g 35a 47p <-------- Returns to Rookie season-esc form
Hodgson 72gm 22g 35a 57p <------- Actually somewhat realistic
Ennis 74gm 24g 33a 57p <------- Actually somewhat realistic
Stafford 61gm 20g 35a 55p as Sabre, traded for 1st rounder + <----- Hopeful due to contract year + better output under Nolan
Grigs 15gm 3g 4a 7p (Plays solid games as a call up) <----- again potentially realistic
Sam B or R Get at least 50p in his rookie season <------ Shot in the dark based on other top picks
The bolded may be the understatment of the year. Going from 22 points to 75 would be unreal. I think Myers and Hodgson have shots at achieving those numbers. Ennis and Stafford seem a bit high but I guess they could hit those as well. I want a top 5 pick in next years draft (obviously hoping for 1) but I do hope our young guys progress. I just can't see them progressing this quickly over one season. If you projected Girgensons and Z's stats 3 years from now then I would be happy and feel it is achievable.

How do those differ from your normal ramblings?
And Boom goes the dynamite!
-
It happens semi-often, I believe. But teams never get value out of it. Blues won't do it because they'd lose more than they'd gain in the trade.
Exactly. Why would they trade millers rights for a second when by doing that they would have to give the sabres their first?
-
Blues are obviously a good team but if they don't resign miller and go with their rookie could that give us an outside shot at the blues struggling a bit and a slim chance they even miss the playoffs?
-
well if the Blues do resign miller that would give us the 17th overall pick? I only ask because, Adrian Kempe... would look really nice in Sabres Jersey.
I would think it would have to be higher than that? Maybe 21?

It wouldn't suprise me to see Nylander pass Dal Colle on some rankings.
He is completely ripping it at the IIHF Under 18 Tourney 5GP 6G 9A +10+/-
Great game tomorrow - USA vs Sweden. i think it will be streamed on FastHockey.com
There's always a chance he could be taken before dal colle but if he does I think it had little to do with what he does in that tourney. This draft is loaded with chl players that are not participating in that tourney. Dal colles 20 points in 12 ohl playoff games mean much more than what nylander does in the iihf under 18 IMO.

So my question is this. Why does everyone think fla will take ekblad? Last year Seth jones fell to them with the second pick and they chose barkov.
I'm not confident they will take Ekblad but with both Sams being rated close to evenly, we can just take the other. I'd prefer Reinhart but I think Benett will end up being a very good player.

They are ranked 20 for McKeown and 27 for Karlsson respectively in the latest edition of ISS
http://www.isshockey.com/iss-top-30/
I think the mock draft is a little off but since it is one of the first full 7 round mocks that it was worth looking at.
Agreed. Never too early to start looking at some mocks.
-
Well I went back and looked at ISS from November and sure of enough Karlsson at #6 and McKeown at #10
http://www.prweb.com...web11336311.htm
Ya that's what I remember. That's a huge fall from 6 down to the first pick in the second round! McKeown falling half a round in a draft that is far from deep on the back end is also surprising to me.
-
What in the hell happened to Anton Karlsson and Roland McKeowan??
Weren't they names being thrown around early in the year for top 5 picks?
-
Starter 8-0, finished 0-4.
Yep, untimely poor goaltending led to the downfall. The Gens even started their backup in the last elimination game. Dal Colle actually looked better in this series of them getting swept then the previous series in which they swept the Petes.
-
-
Dal Colle bounced from the playoffs. He ends with 8-12-20 in 12 games. Ya, I'd certainly take him at 5 overall.
-
It's funny that I just mentioned GMGM in Washington...
@dchesnokov: It sounds like changes may be coming today for the #Caps
That was only a matter of time.

Isn't at least some of this just responding to the way players/coaches talk? I'm not saying I like it, but if the people themselves use this type of language, I think it makes sense that fans would follow suit.
Acceptable my ass! I once gave a student an F on an exam for writing "ppl" for "people" in the written section...I literally stopped reading when I saw it and just stamped an F on the paper.
Hhahahaha, that's great. But let's also keep in mind that you have to be a f*cking m-o-r-o-n to write that way on a final exam versus a message board. I generally type every letter out if I'm at a desktop computer but if I'm typing on my iphone then I'm shortening it up when I can. 'Ppl' are sometimes giving their two cents in on a subject as they're walking out the door or doing something else. I have no problem with it.
-
Just wondering....I saw his team was down 3-0 and got blown out 2 straight where he was on the ice a bunch. Looks like he was fine before this series.
It's never to early to start keeping an eye on him. They did pull off a big win 5-2 last night and he picked up a couple of assists. Man I wish he was in this draft....
Actually I don't wish that because if he were then we would be missing out on him picking second....
-
Hasn't McDavid been a total clunker in the playoffs?
To be completely honest I've focused in on this drafts OHL top prospects. My wife would kill me if I stay up to speed in every series haha. Although looking just at his stats he is well over a point a game with 4-15-19 in 13 games.
-
I would like to start seeing more out of dal colle. Generals are down 2 0 in the series and he's been largely invisible. If we get the isles pick and he's still on the board I'm sure we take him but I haven't been overly impressed with him over the past 4 or 5 games now.
Generals go down 3-0 in the series but Dal Colle has a nice night scoring twice and easily could have had another one or two. The Gens had their backs against the wall and although the goaltending let them down, Dal Colle rose to the occassion and was the best player on either team last night.

There's a decent chance we end up with the Wild pick so we don't want them making it to the Conference finals.
