Ya it's been damn impressive. I've seen his height listed as 5'10 on some sites and 5'11 in others. If he was a couple of inches taller he would likely be a surefire top 5 pick. At the end of the day he still very well may end up there. I haven't seen too many Sarnia games to comment on his type of game.

If Strome continues his domination (especially with McDavid out) then he may unseat Hannifan for third overall when all is said and done. I'm loving a top 5 of McEichle, Hannifan, Strome and possibly Zacha who is starting to heat up. I'm really looking forward to the WJC as many top draft eligible players will be on full display. With it being in Canada this year I won't have to wake up in the middle of the night to watch it either.

Reinhart has been great in his return. It was expected but nice to see him going down there and ripping it up. There is talk he will be Team Canada's captain and I can't wait to see how he looks in this prestigious tourney.

Unfortunately some of our OHL prospects have been cooling off lately. Baptiste with 2 goals and 1 assist in the 7 games he's played with Erie. I watched last nights game against the Gens and he looked ok but was unable to get on the score sheet. I imagine he will start ripping it up once McDavid gets back as he's projected to be on a line with him. Bailey has 1 goal and is a -10 over his last seven games. Small sample sizes and I'm sure they will bounce back as they are good players with Bailey having an excellent year before this rough patch.

Hahahha I hear ya. Tough timing the market so maybe I'll put a little down and then wait out the storm and hope oil prices go back to over $80 per barrel.

This is true. I guess I'll just have to sit on it and hope it goes up at some point. Although it's times like these I wonder if throwing down a grand or so can really pay off. But is it really worth the gamble? I could never be a day trader.....

I'm with Drunkard on this in that I'm not ready to concede it if he stays playing center, which I think he should. He very well likely could be a good second liner on a good team though. I was going to jump in and say yes we have that in spades and rattle off a bunch of names but dudacek hit on all of them but Lemieux which Drunkard brought up. I think this next core will be way more tough to play against than the last one. I like Compher as a potential top 6 at this point along with Grigs likely being second (or really great third) liner. Plus Risto and Zad play tough and they may very well be our future top pairing. We also have a number of tough/gritty players that could fill the third line nicely.

Wife is usually in charge of the presents for the in-laws but being 2 months preggos and throwing up every couple of hours has landed the responsibility with me this year. She's given me no ideas what to get them either. Add to the fact that my MIL is a self centered bitch it's taking every ounce of my being not to buy her what she really deserves...... Edit - bitch makes it through the filters?

Christmas shopping. I don't have a clue what to get half of my family or even worse, my in-laws. It's that time of year where you work all day and then have to drive to an over crowded shopping mall listening to non-stop Christmas music and overkill Chirstmas decorations while trying to scramble and hope to find a gift that you have no idea the other person will enjoy. I'm seriously thinking it's time for gift cards for all.

I really do hope we get multiple 25+ goal scorers out of the group listed dudacek. If not there is always our ability to trade for them as well. Looking back on the last few pages I just lost it on this 'rebuild' because I was believing we were going to get this generational talent that seems to be slipping through our fingers. Our prospect pool is very deep, I just hope some turn into high end scorers (which odds say some probably will). Not sure what got into me, I'm not sure I've ever had so many consecutive Sabres raged posts in the nearly ten years I've frequented this board. Just thinking of whata McEicel could do for the rest of our prospects had me on cloud 9. Its like thinking you hit the jackpot 50 mil and actually you only got 5 of the 6 numbers right. A half mil is excellent and even life changing but its still tough knowing what could have been.

I do like those stats. But the shart is just so damn competitive this year. Any 6 of 7 game losing streak will set some (maybe just me and possibly the old Tank) over the deep end.

Sure has. I just had my Christmas lunch at work so I have no motivation to 'work' after all that food. Combine that with not sleeping well the past two weeks and my built up Sabre rage and here we are.

Hahahhaa, that's what I need to hear. It just seems like typical Buffalo fashion a UFA goalie (who has always been ok but not great for us) completely goes off in a great draft year that we are positioned to pick high in. Hopefully the stats regress towards the mean sooner than later.
