  1. Toronto keeps their winning streak going....
  2. Late to the party but great to read glass!
  3. Oh very true. There always has to be a whipping boy but if he shows up and scores we will move along to another guy.
  4. Good to know. With him being out the rest of the year and not hurting the tank then I make a move for him. He does have off ice baggage but this is a player you take a chance on IMO. He's still young and a former 4th overall pick. As has been pointed out our LW depth is not good right now. I wouldn't want to pay a ton for him though but if the price is right then I take the chance.
  5. Can someone on IR be traded? I thought there was something in the CBA that prevented that?
  6. I really thought any deal for Myers would be offensive prospects coming back. Not sure what I think about Fowler. He's a good young player but I would hope a piece to be added would be either a forward prospect or Gibson. I wonder if the Ducks would take Myers and Enroth for Fowler and Gibson?
  7. I'm not a big fan of Ritchie, I don't want him as the centerpiece of any deal. I would listen to that.
  8. The link below is Hockey Futures top 20 ranking of Ducks prospects. So I'm guessing that list will get raided. With the Ducks being legit contenders I can't see too many roster players coming back if the trade is by the deadline. http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospect-rankings/anaheim-ducks-top-20-prospects/ Looks like they have a PP QB in Shea Theodore. I also like the idea of Gibson. It will obviously take multiple pieces.
  9. Your not in the minority. It means way more for us to get a chl win in this game. The potential drop in the standings from one to two is way bigger than any outside shot of the isles falling to the last team to miss the playoffs.
  10. I've been saying this for two months now.
  11. That's rough Shrader. I have a MIL that has to stick her nose in our business constantly and it gets so frustrating. She lives about 3 hours away and was insistent we move near her rather than a house 15 minutes from my place of employment. I'm the breadwinner and my wife was unemployed at the time, how does that make any sense at all to move up there? Eventually you have to speak to your wife and discuss the pros and cons (as has been mentioned) and also speak to your MIL and discuss the same things. It's really none of her business what house you and your wife decide to buy and I can't blame you for wanting her to but the out. However, for the sake of your relationship try to go about it with the facts. At the end of the day she's not living there and keep reminding her of that. If it's anything like my MIL she came around about 6 months after we had moved in and the issue has only rarely been brought up again.
  12. Nolan climbs up into his tank.
  13. I wish WGR wouldn't talk in absolutes about getting Eichel yet. They were talking this morning about how Hodgson might get bought out because one of his main attributes is PP scoring but with guys like Reinhart, Eichel etc. they won't need him. We're only 4 points away from Edmonton (2 Carrion points) not 14.
  14. I would take a 6th in 2018 for him. As I said I don't think he's part of our future so try and get something and it also helps the tank. Your right, he won't fetch more than a 4th and I'm very ok with that.
  15. Enroth is 31 games away from free agency and I would be surprised if he signed before July 1 unless he gets a good offer from buffalo. Based on Murray's comments about preferring larger goaltenders I would be even more surprised if the sabres offered him a good contract. Therefore move him now and get anything you can and ensure the tank works out. I think enroth can play well in small sample sizes to risk the tank but I don't feel he's good enough to be our tender when we get good. Therefore I would like to move him soon and find a replacement this offseason.
  16. Forget Stafford, Stewart and Myers. I want Enroth gone yesterday. You want to 'manipulate the roster' and really give yourself great odds to win the Shart? Trade the number one star from last nights game. With the injury to our backup (to lazy to look up spelling) and Hackett then becoming your #1 I am confident we will win the prize. Despite Enroth's stats, he steals this team points and I am much more afraid of him taking this team on some late heroic meaningless run than anyone on the roster.

  18. Before their second leading scorer went down (for probably the year) I would agree with you. That's a huge loss for them.
  19. No. I hope we go on another big winning streak and have this thing out of reach. Then when it's mathematically sealed (in the best case scenario) there would be 7 or 8 games left in which we can cheer for losses (wins) at that point. This season is already a lost cause, finish this thing and win the damn Shart!!
  20. Yep. As last night showed, any team can win on any given night. Let's get this thing right back on track. Great news that Arizona lost but the leafs just continue this winning streak and it's making me uneasy.
  21. I know you don't like Crouse and I am fine with where you have him but I myself could not justify putting Zacha ahead of him. In the couple of games I've seen of Zacha he plays a very similar game to Crouse but is not quite as big, not as physical and is scoring at only a very slightly higher point per game (still under a point a game). Not to mention he plays on a better team. That doesn't even take into consideration his dumb suspensions.
  22. I keep praying Detroit goes with that Larkin/Sheahan/1st deal. Two higher end forward prospects and yet another 1st will go a long way for our inept offense. If it happened by the deadline that would be even better.
  23. Not sure about Kessel but that Phaneuf contract is almost unmovable at this point.
  24. That sounds like a terrible recovery ahead of him. I want the Isles to tank but I really don't want to see any serious injury such as this. I hope he fully recovers. There are many Isles fans speculating he's likely done for the year as well.
  25. I keep reading he is expected to be out 6 to 8 weeks. Man, it sounds way more serious than that.
