Exactly this. His lateral movement and success on breakaways is way below average. Maybe on a defensively structured team he would look ok but that’s not how meatballs has this team playing and the strength of the team is more run and gun yet give up chances. It’s also why Levi should be better for this team as those are his strengths. But he’s 21. Sabres fans shouldn’t be asked to continue to wait forever. Goaltending was the issue last season. Goaltending was the issue all offseason. Goaltending is still the issue 8 games and 3-5 record into the season.

It’s like we just keep re-living Groundhog Day. Ya our goaltending killed us last year but I’m sure this rookie will change everything despite what all recent history has told us. ***** off. We deserve better.

But then they got majorly outshot in a big third period early in the season. I’m done with warm fuzzy losses.

I pay for season tickets. I pay for the full nhl streaming package for all Sabres game which is only available in Canada. As I sit downtown I can’t watch the friggen game tonight because I'm not paying again for some other streaming package for the odd time I'm here and team is on the road. Having said that, if they are in the game after the first, and sabrespace tells me they are playing well, I’ll make my way out to a downtown establishment and grab a beer to watch there.

While I won’t deny the benefits you lay out, I would just counter that the live entertainment and atmosphere when the team is consistently winning (ofcourse I realize it’s been awhile) is unmatched. High fiving random strangers who care about the team like you, feeling the gasp of 18,000 people in a close play is one of those unique experiences in life. I can certainly appreciate those that want to fire up twenty views of a play on their big screen but can also appreciate the buzz and excitement that comes from watching live professional sports.

Then don't be a downer. Hopefully Sabres end up with 100+ points and it doesn't matter who gets the odd loser point throughout the year. If the Sabres can take care of their own business that's all that matters.

I can't believe the Mitts we've seen from last February/March until now. It's been a revelation. Not sure what his next contract looks like but I hope we can find a way to keep him at a reasonable price.

It would be ridiculous sending him down if he’s near a point a game still by then. But just or more importantly is he seems to be playing a strong defensive game and is very strong positionally. Unless he goes through a big slump or gets hurt it seems hard to imagine he’s going back down. He’s done everything asked of him and has looked impressive doing it.

I go to as many as I can. Committing 41 nights to anything in life is difficult but get to as many as possible.

Agreed. Our seats are in 300s but it’s front row. Preseason tickets sold quickly. Would have thought for season ticket price (now even less) they would have went quick. Still time I suppose…..

Looking at ticketmaster its nowhere near looking like a sellout.

I have my tickets listed for Tuesday and Thursday at a $10 loss from my season ticket price (more when you consider the fees Ticketmaster charges). Price is $40 cheaper then the unsold Sabres tickets beside us and they still haven’t sold. I guess this is what it’s like being a Sabres season ticket holder especially early in the season 🤡

I’m not sure I’m ready to proclaim Power’s ceiling at this point in the game. I’m with you that it’s very likely Dahlin always stays a level ahead of Power but he was darn good last year and excited to see where his game can go. Those transition passes were a thing of beauty (obviously Dahlin is a master at those long stretch passes also). Glad we have both.

Agreed. I also think there was a couple of million left on the table if push came to shove. Probably discussion for another thread but I just looked up Auston Matthews extension and it’s 4 years at $13.25 mil per season. Not the same position so tough to compare but I’m very happy with the contract.
