  1. I was out with my girlfriend getting dinner last Sunday and they happened to have the Wild - Devils game on. I've never enjoyed watching hockey less.
  2. Can't argue with either of these points. Being critical is fine, especially if you have a legitimate reason to do so. But when your primary job is to cover both sports, I shouldn't be able to tell how little you care on a daily basis. I will give him credit for being a good interviewer though. Specifically the stuff he has done with GMTM in the past has always been entertaining and informative.
  3. I don't care how stupid it sounds, I want to hear it multiple times a game here for the next 10+ years.
  4. Seriously. You want to show someone a dominant player making people look stupid trying to defend them, this is the goal I pick. Like there wasn't a doubt in his mind as soon as he got the puck in his end that he was scoring.
  5. There are times where Schopp is definitely a bit too harsh on callers for my liking, but I generally like when he asks callers for stats or proof to back up their points. If you have a point, and claim it as fact, you should be able to defend it with facts as well. It's more so the way he words things, pulls no punches, which can be good or bad depending on the situation. Agree with the above also, his memory seems unreal sometimes.
  6. Hard to find a human who lived without caring one bit about what anyone else thought of him. Who truly pushed the boundaries of what you could sound and look like while you do it. He always made the records he wanted to make, damn the sales, and I respect that a great deal. He was one of the true great musical talents we'll see on this planet, and I can't wait to make the office listen to Diamond Dogs all day.
  7. Just got in after missing the whole game in time to see Kane pass to Samson for the hatty. What an awesome way for him to stick it to the team that called him selfish and a bad teammate. Better than a goal if you ask me.
  8. Wow, that number is insane. I guess I didn't realize how truly bad we were last year.
  9. I loved Neuvirth. Obviously his play was making last years goal for the team difficult, but he was damn fun to watch. I was convinced we would get him back after last season, boy I wish I was right.
  10. His legacy is whatever to me, he's not Hasek 2.0, but I stand by my statement that I would love any of our guys having his career here.
  11. By your logic then would you turn down Brodeur and Roy's careers here in Buffalo? They both have worse career SV% than Miller.
  12. I don't think Rey simply being an apprentice is out of the question, but I'll stand by the face that she's a Skywalker until proven otherwise, and solely because of the lightsaber. That's very specifically the lightsaber handed down in the family, and I don't think they would abandon that tradition.
  13. By his logic so would Ullmark and Johnson apparently. Don't get me wrong, Miller is not the messiah, but I would be thrilled if we got similar play out of any of our guys.
  14. Miller has a better career SV% than Roy or Brodeur. That doesn't scream average to me.
  15. Similar despite playing hundreds of games more. Sure, Johnson has a better GAA than Miller right now, but he's played 81 career games to Miller's 632. Not to mention Miller played in an era where scoring wasn't off the charts, but much more prevalent. This argument is quite the stretch. Would you honestly say you wouldn't be content or even happy with Ullmark or Johnson or Lehner ending their career here with Miller-like numbers?
  16. I want to see Kane fight so badly. He definitely has stone hands. He would have rocked him.
  17. Should have clarified I did mean points there.
  18. Pretty sure with that goal Jagr is at 104 against the Sabres for his career. Also the arena cheered louder for the peewee intermission than they did for the Sabres all period.
  19. I find myself getting angry at people in the arena booing Jagr after he scores. Am I a traitor?
  20. Team looks good but you can hear a pin drop in here.
  21. If you hear a guy in jeans, an Eichel jersey, and a Sabres hat yell wildcard it's me.
  22. Season 2 of Fargo was fantastic, maybe better overall than season one, but no character to match Thorton as Malvo unfortunately. He was on fire. Better Call Saul was good as well, definitely got better as the season went on. Over the long weekend I watched three movies, The Revenant, The Big Short, and Hateful Eight. Revenant and Big Short were fantastic. If Leo doesn't win for Revenant he never will, and Tom Hardy was just as good. The acting in Hateful 8 was really strong, but the story itself was very weak. Tarantino has proved with the last two movies he can tell funny and memorable stories, especially in Inglorious Basterds. Not sure what happened with this one.
  23. Got a surprise invite to the game tonight from a coworker, 7th row slightly diagonal from the away net. Haven't been to a game since Dallas, will definitely report on crowd energy and enthusiasm throughout the game.
