  1. For me, that’s the reason it makes sense to trade/expose him. I don’t think he is as bad as you, but he isn’t worth his salary and as a pending UFA the end of the line appears visible.
  2. My heart goes out to you man. You family sounds great. Keep doing what feels right for all of you.
  3. Honestly, I’m just glad that I felt well enough to do my 5 mile walk after work today. 11 more days until full protection.
  4. I got the one with the microchip. I don’t need my ear buds to listen to Bluetooth from my phone anymore. No bad side effects though.
  5. You said there were reports of a lower price, $7M, earlier in the season/negotiating process. I don’t think there are any reports of that. If you have a hunch that is the case, that’s fine, I’m not to argue about your gut feeling. However, it doesn’t really carry any weight with me. Not like an actual report from any reputable media source would. If you have that, I’d love to see it. EDIT: Also, what’s an almost promise worth? Ask my ex-girlfriends.
  6. It’s not a locked thread.
  7. No, no. I totally agree with you that the Sabres and Skinner were negotiating during the course of the season. That I remember. What I don’t think exists is any evidence that the Sabres could have signed him earlier for cheaper, and specifically for $7M. I don’t know where you got that from.
  8. At the of that story, was George right? Lol Sorry, I simply don’t remember it being reported around the trade deadline that Skinner wanted $7M.
  9. I feel like you may be the only person who remembers this. I don’t think this happened.
  10. So, follow up. Got my 2nd Pfizer on Friday afternoon. Friday night I started in with a slight headache. Relatively minor but persisted all through Saturday and Sunday even with taking Tylenol. Also felt quite a bit more tired than normal Saturday and to some extent Sunday. Never developed a fever or any other symptoms, and it didn’t stop me from doing anything I had planned. I just felt about 75% for a couple days. Today I feel just about back to normal, 95%. All in all, it was no big deal. If you haven’t yet, go get your vaccine!
  11. Did you know that he is 6’4” and skates really well?
  12. Have you noticed Reinhart’s distinct improvement in FO% recently? Whoops, and then I read to the bottom of the page.
  13. The “Reinhart situation” he was referring to may not have been the potential future overpayment of Reinhart. I was thinking it was the series of short term deals bringing him to UFA status (and potential departure) as quickly as possible.
  14. Small sample sizes both but he has really produced both in the WHL and at the U18’s this season. Looks like he led the WHL in points per game for draft year defensemen.
  15. Dang, looks like you were pretty much right, maybe even a tad optimistic. I dug up these recent comparables. Werenski - $5M x 3 yrs, 6.14% cap % Sergachev - 4.8 x 3, 5.89% McAvoy - 4.9 x 3, 6.01% Chabot - 8 x 8, 9.8% Ekblad - 7.5 x 8, 10.27% Provarov - 6.75 x 6, 8.28% Hamilton - 5.75 x 6, 8.05% Ristolainen - 5.4 x 6, 7.4% Based on these, I’d say something in the 4.75-5.75 range on a bridge, and 6.75-8.25 range on a long term deal.
  16. Really? Why? Do you have comparable? I would think a 2-3 year bridge would be in the 3.5-4.5 range, and a 6+ year deal would be in the 5.5-7 range. I’m going to have to go looking for comparable D contracts.
  17. Why do you think that? Miller I get, he’s kind of similar to Risto, but not quite as good, and a little cheaper. But they may want a younger asset who they have control of for several years, as opposed to Risto for just one season.
  18. 7th full season, which is what I said.
  19. This is a pointless type of fear. Don’t trust them to make a trade, or sign players, or make draft picks. Better to let him walk away in UFA? Management can’t mess that transaction up at least.
  20. One player can not carry a team to success. It just doesn’t work like that in the NHL. Risto is not being paid or deployed as a 2/3 pair guy. He would do fine in that role most likely. One year from now is he going to take a pay cut to stay in Buffalo and play that role? If not then he is a one year rental asset. This must be kept at the forefront when considering what to do with him. Borgen meanwhile will be much cheaper and under team control for at least 3 more years. Not all of this is a direct response to your post, but I kind of used it as a jumping off point.
  21. Kind of, but pretty different situations. Chara had just finished his age 23 season and 3rd full NHL season, while Risto this offseason will have just finished his age 26 season and 7th full NHL season. Chara was not really that late of a bloomer by age 25 he was finishing top-10 in Norris voting. Also, Chara was traded as part of a package for a star #1C, Yashin, along with a 1st and a 4th line F.
  22. I don’t think it’s a magic number. It was probably determined that a 6 ft distance would provide some protection while also being practical to implement. If it was for maximum safety, the guideline would probably have been 50 ft or something, but that’s useless because no business could implement it.
  23. Got my Pfizer vaccine 2nd dose this afternoon. I’ll let you know how I feel, and we’ll see if my new Gates microchip gets Bluetooth or starts downloading automatic Microsoft updates or anything. Also, vaccines are incredibly accessible around here (Albany area). Anyone 16+ who wants to get it, can get it basically at their convenience. I got mine at Walmart, and while I was there they announced over the PA that anyone who wants to get it should go to the pharmacy. I think they were going to do it on the spot for anyone. Maybe they had some extra from cancellations earlier in the day.
  24. When you are breathing stuff into the air, the farther away from me you are, the less likely I am to breathe that stuff in. It’s really not much more complicated than that.
  25. Just got my second Pfizer this afternoon. Good thing you didn’t get that Sputnik. The Bluetooth microchip works fine, but it translates everything into Russian. 🇷🇺 🤷🏻‍♂️
