The Isles don’t get to decide whether Lambert takes another job or not. Unless Lambert has a very unusual contract for an NHL assistant coach.
-
It only makes sense if you think that Jones is great, a borderline Norris candidate, (I don’t) and he agrees to an extension.
-
I’m not saying his model is trash, and it’s good conversation either way, but I’m not valuing above any other evaluation unless I have some evidence that it is actually effective.
-
All of it is. I’m just here for the lolz. Edit: Except the part about being 6’5” and having an awesome name. That’s genuinely true. Also, don’t worry about what he is or isn’t great at, kids obviously gonna be a bEasT.
-
That’s cool, but my question is about the actual performance of his model. How accurately does it actually predict who will become NHL contributors and stars?
-
Is that supposed to be supporting evidence that his model is good? Or just a random thing you added to your post?
-
Best highlight package a #1 pick has ever had. If you can’t see that, you don’t know a thing. This is in a MENS tournament with a couple actual good NHL players. Did I mention that Power is 6’5” 215 and his name is awesome?

For all the people complaining about this: he is ranking prospects (and team prospect pools) based on the results of a mathematical model (which I’m assuming he came up with?). It’s not based on scouting or evaluation of player skills, just on their numbers. For that reason, any accusations of a pro/anti team bias don’t really have any support. However, it can certainly be argued that maybe Bader’s model just is not good. Do we have any proof that it is? With Sandin and Robertson, and a few other good ones, it’s not bad. Wouldn’t say 4th though.

Is one year of upgrade from Risto to Jones worth trading down from 1 to 5? Also Jones can submit a list of 10 teams he can’t be traded to, and Buffalo probably makes that list.
-
Agree on Hughes. LD prospects would be a bit ridiculous, but that’s the tier of players. I would have Johnson/McTavish in the next tier.
-
Personally, I would hope that one of Beniers, Eklund, Guenther, Hughes, Clarke is still available and take that guy. If more than one is available, I would probably prioritize forwards.
-
It’s no joke, his source really does agree. Of course his source is his Beagle mix Daisy, and she’ll agree with anything for a treat, but still..........

Replied before I read to the bottom of the page.

The OP of that thread was a fundamental misunderstanding of the tweet that was quoted. There are no rumors of Power rejecting Buffalo.
-
Yeah, maybe, depending on Covid effects.
-
A little dramatic. No one here is making any decisions and “we” are not Buffalo.
-
No. I don’t think so. I would say quite the opposite. After drafting Quinn it was explicitly said that he was picked in large part because they think he does have so much development ahead of him.
-
No one because Kings already hung up the phone.
-
Sabres Proudly Pick Power from the Pack of high Potential Prospects.
-
Yeah, I would do the same. We are both geniuses. Yay Us!
-
If you can figure out who in this draft is a HoFer, by all means draft them #1.
-
Agree. It’s going to be pretty wild. New coach. #1 Pick. Possibility of 3 top players being moved. Drama galore. Hold on tight and try to stay calm everyone.

What does any of this have to do with whether there are any conservatives on this board? I encourage you to leave that stuff out next time.
