If the Samuelssons feel like Buffalo is not a good situation, it is possible to work your hardest, do your best for the team, and at the same time not put yourself in a situation contractually were you are tied down long term. I find this post to be rather disingenuous. Surely you realize that Hall, Staal, Montour were UFAs who would not be returning for next season either way. Yet you listed them as part of a tanking strategy.

From where did you hear that Kjell Samuelsson is trying to guide his son out of the Sabres organization? What I would like to know is if you actually heard this from a source, or if you are just assuming. Either way, Sabres hold Samuelsson’s rights for 6 more years. Things may be different by then.

One other thing from this presser. Adams seemed to indicate that McCabe wouldn’t be back, or at least that they were no longer negotiating.

It all depends on the deal though doesn’t it. If Minnesota was trying to say Dumba, Rask, Boldy/Rossi, and a 1st, is that enough?

All I can add to this is that this Adams remark was not unprompted. It was in direct response to a question along the lines of “Is there any chance at all that Eichel is on the team at the start of next season, or is the relationship just too broken?” With that question, I’m not sure what else Adams is supposed to say.

Took a shot on a guy who they probably think developed a lot, but didn’t play games to shoe it in.
