  1. True, but I’ve heard no guarantee from Adams (or some future GM yet unhired) that prospects will not be traded away. Yeah, you beat me by a few mins and gave a more professional presentation. I went for a slightly more narrative approach. Lol
  2. Last time they tanked there was also a “solid group of kids in the system to build around”. It was the summer of 2014. Player under 25, there was: G’s Enroth, Ullmark, and Peterson D’s Myers, Risto, Zadorov, McNabb, McCabe, and Pysyk F’s Ennis, Foligno, Armia, Girgensons, Grigorenko, Compher, Hurley, Bailey, and Baptiste And we also had a stockpile of picks for 2014 and 2015. Of course not all of these young players would turn out, but surely many would. We just needed to add a couple star talents to the roster, and we had the perfect plan to do just that....................
  3. What is wrong with you!
  4. Personally, I haven’t really posted in here. Not because I don’t like Power, but more because there was nothing left to say. We talked about him so much leading up to the draft. The other guys drafted we haven’t talked about at all. It’s just more interesting.
  5. Well, after Dahlin was picked number 1, they asked him. They thought it was a funny question to break the ice and lighten things up, when in reality it was awkward and Dahlin seemed kind of weirded out by it. They are a couple of dummies, so I figured they might think it was a good idea again, even though it didn’t go well the first time, and yeah, they did.
  6. Oh. Yeah, um, (Savoie, Lambert, Miroshnichenko) /(Michkov, Fantilli, Yager) then. Lol.
  7. Yeah, that was kind of the whole point though. Would removing the best player from a team “sink” the rest of the team, with Gretzky being mentioned specifically. Its one of the few hypotheticals we throw out here that had a near perfect test case.
  8. More like McKinnon/McDavid but yeah. If they really plan to suck, I could see it being a 2 year plan.
  9. I knew that they would.
  10. The Gretzky Oilers tested this theory for you. Results came back. They were good enough to win the Cup even without the best player ever.
  11. I’m just trying to help you out. If your goal was just to aggravate someone, you’ve succeeded in aggravating two.
  12. What else was in the deal though? I think that’s the important question. $10M (Dumba+Rask), a 1st and a B prospect? Is that the sort of deal he means?
  13. He thought that Johnson was drafted too high. That there was forward talent (Kaliyev, Nick Robertson) still on the board that was both better value and a larger organizational need. It’s not that he disliked Johnson, he just liked other players more.
  14. It was created in May, 2 and a half months before the 2021 draft.
  15. I was thinking the same, but the goalies. Have to wait and see who will be in goal.
  16. Why do you think that Power is a diva???
  17. I don’t think the level of accomplishment and success is comparable between Hasek and Eichel. Hasek is revered because he was the best player in the league for a good stretch. 6 Vezinas, 2 Harts and a couple deep playoff runs in an 8 year period. Eichel has an 8th place in Hart voting season and missed the playoffs every year.
  18. Exactly. If JJ had played in the AHL, he wouldn’t have looked so good. Probably
  19. Please, no. Don’t start putting a bunch of eggs in one player’s basket. It’s a team they are building. They are going to draft a good player and that’s great, but I’ve no appetite to be happy about losing. Stop stop stop. It’s not about one player! This organization just did this with Eichel, placing so much on his shoulders and making so much about him individually. It can’t be like that.
  20. You think they will ask him what kind of underwear he wears? Power seems like a great kid. Mature and humble. He gives really boring hockey player answers from what I’ve seen.
  21. Uh oh, I just thought of something. There was no combine, so we don’t even know if he can do a pull up!
