The idea that you will probably take a step back when most of your good players approach 40 years old is not a misnomer though.

Welcome! Welcome!

Wow. You might be the smartest person here.

A bunch of their very good players are very old. They are going to get worse. The organization isn’t going to become a dumpster fire, but they won’t be contenders much longer. I think is what everyone is saying. To put it in your verbiage, they are about to be handling a down cycle.

Do you think a team will trade a player as good or close to as good as Risto with more term and reasonable cap hit in exchange for him?
-
My “perfect” schedule setup: -16 vs west teams (1 each, home or away, alternating yearly) -24 vs other eastern division (3 each, alternating between 2 and 1 home/away yearly) -42 vs your division (6 each, 3 home 3 away)
-
Except the trade isn’t Risto for maybe Risto. It’s 1 season of Risto for many seasons of maybe Risto. You think they should flip him at the deadline instead?
-
You are probably in the majority. It doesn’t bother me. I wish the schedules were a little more unbalanced and they played teams in division/conference more often. I’m probably weird though.
-
Oh, I thought it actually did create some bad blood type scenarios.
-
I think Guerin is actually concerned about Kaprizov bolting, and if he isn’t able to prevent that, he is immediately on the hot seat.
-
Why? (He asked naively)
-
They could make it work I think.
-
I wish the league had kept the back to backs. I think both players and fans liked them.
-
I’ll remind you of it after a big trade and tomorrow after the Sabres pick.
-
Jimmy’s brother Kevin Hayes played for Rangers. Did he really steer Vesey away from Boston? Jimmy Hayes was playing for Boston at the time that Vesey entered the league.

I’ll keep it in mind. I’m probably not going to cut anyone more slack, but I’ll keep an eye on the snark. Don't take me too harshly. I very rarely take this too seriously. It’s talk about a hockey team. If I disagree I’ll say so. If someone has facts wrong I’ll say so. But my blood is never boiling over here.
-
What did he do?
-
Only part of this that is news to me, or at all surprising is that you think I’m super knowledgeable. What was it that fooled you?
-
Doesn’t every fan base look forward to potential trades that could help their team every year?
-
It doesn’t sound right because we don’t even know if that’s true, or if it’s a half or quarter truth. Maybe it’s flat out not true, or maybe a general description of what’s going on with Jacks health is being freely given, but the actual medical files will only be given when a deal is close. We don’t know nothin.
-
Yeah, maybe it won’t happen for a while. We don’t really know. The reason you get push back is because you say things with conviction like: “If teams are serious the deal would be done already today obviously top Prospect are Off limits which I think is a joke but what ever .” ...as if you know these things to be fact. When everyone here knows that you don’t have a clue , just like I don’t have a clue and 99% of the people here don’t have a clue.

What comparable to Eichel trades have happened on any day, period?
-
A trade this big? So whatever I list, are you just going to say that it’s not as big as an Eichel trade? EDIT: @Hoss Ok, I see the answer. I honestly started making a list of the big trades that have happened on draft day over the past 5-10 years. But if you are disputing that draft day is one of the biggest trade days on the NHL calendar, am I just wasting my time?
-
Big trades often happen right at the draft or at least on draft day. Just because nothing happened immediately after the roster freeze lifted doesn’t mean nothing will happen a couple hours from now, or tomorrow morning, or during the draft itself.
