Thanks for this. So, a bonafide starting goalie who was about 15th out of 107 last year by the advanced metrics, who played over 50 NHL games last season, is worth roughly a prospect, mid pair d-man who might be an NHLer, in a few years. Just trying to take the temperature, this definitely suffices

My post was to work in congruence with yours, I agree with your Hart evaluations
-
What asset do we have that’s roughly equivalent to Hart? Doesn’t need to be a goalie. It’s difficult, but which player/prospect do we equate to roughly equal value?
-
That Avs win in 2001 over prime Brodeur/Devils, SANS Peter the Great, remains very impressive. That was a fantastic Colorado team, one of the great teams in my estimation, if you include Forsberg
-
That’s why I don’t get the Hart proposals. Why would they significantly downgrade for merely a second round pick? Just keep Hart? It’s a totally different situation to, say, Hellebuyck. I understand why we feel by market a second can get in done but I’d be shocked if Danny B felt that worth pulling the trigger

Which especially pays dividends in the playoffs. Scoring is so high now you tend to see forwards have the most impact during regular season games, but I’m super excited to see Dahlin (and, soon, Power) in the playoffs because I think we really stand to benefit from our best player, possibly our soon to be 2 best players, taking up the lion’s share of the ice time. Provided we solidify goalie. Its probably just my bias from being old and watching duos like Pronger / Niedermayer dominate back in the day but my hunch is we’re shaping up to have a duo that shines, particularly, in the playoff format

Anderson did pretty well n e wayz, here’s the link https://moneypuck.com/goalies.htm

I don’t mean this in snark, and it’s totally fine if you don’t agree with me, but I’ve typed *countless* words of late explaining my position on why we have a decade’s worth of working evidence on what Comrie is. Yes, he’s been evaluated. I don’t really wanna type it all again but I can link my post from yesterday if you like Too quick for me. I posted a second chart
-
And I don’t wanna hear about Sabre D. Craig Anderson finished 52nd with a 0.4

Preface - yes, I know, eXpEcTeD bY wHoOooOm? column on far right is expected goals. List is out of 107 There’s Hellebuyck in 4th. Carter Hart in 15th

Is this like a Market thing or do you assess that to be a fair deal ie the difference between Comrie and Hart is a 2nd round pick in your estimation?
-
Why would the Flyers significantly downgrade for a 2nd rounder, though?

Probably my faith in Levi that adds to my Hellebuyck preference. But as mentioned, I’d still be tickled pink to add Hart. We can compare/contrast the numbers to your Comries of the world but for me it basically ends at the fact Hart started more games last season than Comrie has in his career, spanning a decade. He’d be the first bonafide starter Adams brought in, in 3 years On the other hand...
-
Interesting. That would be some high quality wheeling and dealing. Though I suspect some might prefer Hart to Helle straight up given contract terms

Welcome to the Wiserhood

I do. We did. No one agreed with me except dudacek and brawndo im good with that
-
I don’t consider a full season a rental. I consider it a full season the Hellebuyck deal I liked wasn’t multiple top prospects though it was 13th o/a and change
-
True. KA seems to favour 7. Still a good length at 10 mil. But it’s, say, the discrepancy some were missing for why, say, Caufield’s deal was a bit more that Cozens, they paid for that extra UFA year
-
No I think the offer is fine I just chuckle at the contrast of “This price is absolutely a non-starter for a perennial vezina guy but I’ll sign on the dotted line immediately for this significantly inferior goalie...we get the worse guy for a second year!” But we’ve been here, already - no real need to rehash
-
Marek today with a good segment on how Vegas has a habit of turning good goalies into pumpkins Particularly when it was obvious the layoff would hurt Florida

Hart played 55 games last year. Comrie hasn’t played that many in his career. It’s an upgrade. Not close to Hellebuyck, but an upgrade nonetheless
