  1. If he can be spun right now into Dakota Joshua in theory, does that mean he can be seen as Adams “big swing” this offseason?
  2. Exactly. They can’t just be lowballing him when there are other people competing for the same assets. What good is lowballing if you don’t come away with anything? In cases where there are no competitors, sure, but that’s usually not the case if it’s a reasonable asset
  3. Adams and Chevy are indeed talking. I can tell because we still only have dial-up internet in Manitoba and I can hear chevy’s modem trying to remain connected
  4. Already ready to weigh in here, gonna take a break for some cornhole - nice draft from KA. Always seems to come away with good value for his picks. Not going to pretend to know enough to evaluate each pick individually. - disappointing team-building draft weekend from KA (so far). Always seems to come away with a disappointing haul from these things we’ll have to see what he does over the next week through FA to get a sense of his offseason
  5. It’s my hair
  6. If we agree on the deadline, we are barely disagreeing at all
  7. Another classic sabres jets trade!
  8. They aren’t booing…they’re saying “osbuuuuurn” “osbuuuuuuurn”
  9. I doubt we are that far apart. Am I firing Adams right now? No. Are you firing him if we miss next season? If you are, I mean..we’re not far apart here
  10. And it doesn’t matter how they did it. Isn’t drafting open to Adams? The point is that they did it, with less goodwill player destination wise than buffalo. Chevy configured the tools at his disposal 7 times successfully I just want us to do it once The answer to that can’t be “patience”
  11. The jets have traded their first around deadline day like 5 years running lol they’ve made a multitude of impact deals. It’s the combination of several good moves to build a cohesive whole, that’s my point your arguments don’t support the idea it can’t be done, they support the idea it takes a skilled maneuverer. No one is debating that Those 2 things you mentioned are *differences* not the main difference - and those two components also fall to the GM and, again, SEVEN TIMES take it all away and say even winnipeg has an easier time because…reasons the gap isn’t 7-0 severe - - - 99.9% of the arguments in defence of this regime fall apart on the basis of the goal being utterly low We are asking for almost nothing and still can’t get it
  12. Winnipeg struggled with and continues to struggle with the exact same issues or worse, they’ve made the playoffs *7 times* after returning in 2011, and us not at all. i live here, I read the papers, you can see the “desired destination lists” voted on by nhl players: winnipeg is LOWER than buffalo the difference, again, is the aptitude of the person pulling the strings
  13. Structuring your team around “development spacing” is like structuring your Star Wars movie around the taxation of trade routes
  14. Developmental spacing lol
  15. No, my point is well made if you were keeping up with the discussion my exact point is that either way CAN work and either way CAN fail. It’s down to the skill of the person implementing the strategy
  16. We finished with 76 points after Jack missed the first quarter of the season - you know, the same point total KA has averaged for 4 years You are splitting hairs, dude they’ve all been bad
  17. The sticking point re: the imagination of the fans not coming to fruition is that the part that remains imaginary is making the playoffs No one would actually care about the format used to build the team if it *ever actually worked* Fans don’t need to get used to seeing anything if it’s not success
  18. No, with a rookie Eichel we finished with 81 points coming off a 50 point finish, as opposed to the near identical 84 from Adams this year, but coming off a 91 point finish
  19. The Buffalo Sabres will be fine
  20. Advanced stats unfortunately have him as a downgrade on Girgs, but we shall see
