The Jets are as far from lst place as they are to making the playoffs so it is anyone's guess....mine is they don't make the playoffs. Long story short, the Jets went with Ehlers, Copp, Petan (sent down), and Burmi and the youth didn't pan out. Lowry, Trouba, Myers, Ladd, Chiarot and a host of others started the season playing like they didn't belong in the NHL....Goaltending was shite too....some are picking up their games ... Myers has 8 points in his last 10 games for instance and Trouba has come around since being switched to LHD and paired with Buff. Stafford, next to Wheeler, has been our most consistent player all year. Does the trade have anything to do with it? Hard to say but I would think Myers' poor play early had something to do with it. Hellebuyck is playing as advertised and could squeak them into the playoffs but I don't see it happening....our last 21 games are played in 40 days so I don't see us getting in....Also if Ladd/Buff aren't signed by the TD, they will be dealt and that would make us weaker.

I am happy that he isn't taking shifts off like most analysts said he does and more than happy he is defensively responsible which is more than I can say for Ehlers. I would disagree and say that Armia's D game is very, very good. Armia is also older and should be better developed right now than Lemieux...I just see Lemieux as a 4th liner 3 tops....honestly, I don't like his character and wouldn't mind if he were traded, but that's me. This trade can still not be judged yet and it may work out that both teams won. If anyone thinks this is the best that Kane can be or will be they are mistaken. Easily the highest potential and game changer if he is on his game. The injury and personal BS has affected his game for sure. You know what you get every time Kaner hit s the ice. Bogo on the other hand will give you about 60 or so games a year. Some where you think he is Scott Stevens and others where you want him gone yesterday.

Staf is [playing LW with Little and Wheeler the last 5 or so games....Ehlers is on the 2nd and Burmistrov on the 4th so Armia is relegated to the 4th.....showing good D smarts.

Well Mr. Somebodyshiteinmysoup, I was saying that because the knock on him was that he was inconsistent. He seems to give it his all every shift.

Armia scored and got his first point last night....he is playing well on the 4th line and getting about 8-9 minutes a game. No signs of inconsistency from his game yet.

He's not getting 8 years, he'll get 7 tops if Chevy re-signs him.... Armia only plays a handful of shifts tonight because of all the special teams play. Staf played well as he has all season and Myers, well, everyone says he had a great game.

I would guess that the person supplying the info works at the cop shop. I am also guessing this is not the first and it won't be the last time they sell info.

Whether Kaner is innocent or not, this will stay with him. Even if he isn't charged, people will always bring this up. Another thing, it is a black eye on hockey as a sport. Kaner has to be smarter and not let himself get into these situations. If he is innocent, it should be forgotten and never ever held against him. If he is guilty, he should be finished as a pro hockey player anywhere. Simple as that...

I'd trade Ladd yesterday but Buff needs to stay... Buff>Trouba>Myers... I'm not comfortable with Trouba-Myers being our top 2 RHD. Besides, Buff is a smart player, towards the end of his career he could probably morph over to become a really good, defensive minded shutdown D man. Montreal or someone that thinks Ladd will help would probably give a good return for him at the trade deadline. He averages about 61 points a game but he is asking for 41m over 6 years ( if you wanna believe rumors ). Too much. I'd wrap him and Myers up for Hamonic and Okposo if I were GM. Then, I would give Okposo that 7m per year and convert Ehlers over to the LW to fill the void. We are 8 points out of a playoff spot and play that team 3 times in January but we also play the last 21 games in 40 days so I honestly don't think we will be in the playoffs this year. Brighter days are ahead with the young guys coming up so we have to be patient. This is not a league you can build a contender in, with what was left in the cupboards when this team moved, in 5 years. I think there is some worry among the fans here because he played poorly after that trade. Word is he was playing well for the Moose before being called up but they are sucking big time on the farm this year. I've only watched him with the Moose once this year and I thought he played okay....didn't hurt himself or stand out in a negative way. I'd like to see what he could do with some O oriented line mates but I am impatient.

Armia sure didn't look out of place. Played strong on the boards winning some battles and had some shots and hits. He has a good stick. I am sure he will start next game as well. Looks to me like he could put on 15-20 lbs. Lanky looking. Myers played a smarter game tonight. It's starting to look like Hellebuyck is a keeper. Really good position and makes the big saves look easy.

Maybe Kaner was in a hurry and had a meeting? Maybe he is a dick? Nobody knows....he did sign it didn't he? Can't please everyone every time. I'm sure Kaner went with the team to children's hospitals and stuff like that and it was reported but fans only remember the tweets with money on his back or stacks in his hands. That's "fans" for you. There was no forward to back up Myers and he knew this....only one able to get back was Enstrom and it was a 2 on 1.....3rd fricken period in a tied game!!!!
