  1. Run For Your Life was a "filler" song he needed and wrote in in next to no time at the studio.
  2. Only to tell you guys how smart you were for moving him. With the young players the Sabres have, they shouldn't be exposed to Kaner's "bad decisions".
  3. He won't be on the team at the end of this contract.
  4. Wow, most fans on that thread are pretty much ready to trade Kaner...how opinions change, eh?
  5. Larsson is a better D man than Fowler but no way would I give up Hall for him. RNH maybe and Eberle in a heartbeat.....rumors about Hall's character but they are just rumors. Rumor also has it the effin Bruins are going to give Trouba an offer sheet that will cost them the next four 1st round draft picks...if that is true, Trouba will be a Bruin. The only team I hate more than the Oilers is the Bruins. A million first rounders and can't scrape themselves off of the basement floor? I think Chia got fleeced but Larsson is a better D man than he is given credit.
  6. Not in Winnipeg....there were rumors he dashed and dined at a popular restaurant but I'd find that REALLY hard to believe and it would surprise me if he wasn't a really generous tipper. Most of the stuff about Kaner here was about missing or being late for meetings and not adhering to the dress code and locker room stuff. He has a hate on for Ladd and Wheeler and they were two of the leaders of the team back then. I'd like to know what he thinks of Buff because everyone says that whether he wears a letter or not, he controls the room. Murray should trade him to Vegas to open up some roon for Stamkos. Leave him unprotected and get Vegas to draft a couple of players you want and next year's 1st or something and trade them to you for next to nothing. This trade seems to be boiling down to two D men that haven't reached their potential and probably never will and Kane who will probably never reach his potential. These guys could all be first line/pairing players but they aren't. Staf is Staf but he is taking up a roster spot here. Most everyone says Armia will never hit his potential either and will be a 3rd or 4th liner and he has way more talent than a 4th liner. Lemieux brings that edge to his game and isn't a small player but on a good team, he should be a very good 4th or borderline 3rd line winger. Kasdorf and Roslovic are left and who knows what will happen with them...especially the goalie. Everyone likes to talk highly of their prospects but how many turn out? London traded for Roslovic's rights so he might reunited with Tkachuk on the Knights. I honestly think that both teams are better off than they were before the trade but I'd love to have Bogo back if he learned to play LHD. I'd love to see Armia on a lone with so me top end players. Laine Little Armia or Connor Scheifele Armia or something.
  7. There were 3 of us fishing (bro's daughter didn't fish that morning) and one had a conservation license so we could keep 6, 6, and 4 for 16 walleye. We could have kept more because my bro and I are Metis but we stuck to the limits. We threw them back to be caught another day. We aren't there for the meat, we are there for the fun of it and the camaraderie....oh ya, and the beer, we are there for the beer too. Bissett is about a 3 hour drive for the bass and an hour back towards home is Manigotagan where we stopped for the walleye....Adam and I caught 86 walleye there one evening in about 4 1/2 hours. We were using bottom bouncers and worms on a 5 foot worm harness and trolling about 1.5 mph. I did catch one casting a crank while someone was taking line off of the propellor.
  8. Which D men do the Sabres protect now that they have Kulikov?
  9. Kaner is Kaner and he likes the nightlife....I doubt very much he choked a girl out....I also think he is a non-drinker.....he needs to hire a bodyguard to keep away from him that want to make a name for themselves when he goes out...... As far as his dedication to playing when he was in the Peg, you couldn't ask any more of him....he played as hurt as the docs would let him and is a warrior on the ice.....but, if he was a cancer in the room, I am glad he is gone and I really don't think he will finish his contract in a Sabres' uni.
  10. My bro and his daughter and my sister's son-in-law and I went for smallmouth and walleye the weekend of June 3.... 12 small northern pikes and 185 Smallmouth Bass in a full day and a half....bass action was non-stop with a few going over 19 inches but I think we were about 5-7 days late....... Then we drove back towards home an hour and stopped for walleye.....strong winds prevented us from going on the lake and getting to our spot and we only managed 2 walleye with a Crappie and one small Northern Pike in the river but we only fished for about 90 minutes and headed back to the motel room and drank beer. Got out on the lake about 7 am the next day and three of us caught over 30 eater-size walleye and a big Freshwater Drum. The sister's son-in-law and I have been doing this trip for about 5 years but now the bro and his daughter want to join in annually... I tried filming them fishing with poppers but nobody caught anything until I turned the camcorder off and it is too bad because topwater action was really good. Do you guys eat those White Bass? They are delicious.
  11. I'm not saying that what the Jets does impact with the Sabres did or does all I'm saying is that they went about it two different ways and ended up with the same result
  12. Lotsa luv for Kaner on here....good to see, he needs/loves it. I want to move Staf because, as I've said a few times, he will hold up young RWers on the team. This is a team of the future. I suspect Chevy will want to hold onto him until the TD but I would move him at the draft. A GM that would involve Chariot, Morrissey, and Mark Dano plus a pick does not reside in Winnipeg. Morrissey will be starting with the Jets by the end of next season and will eventually move on to mega-time on the PP. No need to rush a player if he isn't ready. The Thrashers did enough of that with Kaner, Burmi and maybe even Bogo. Oh ya, let's not forget the plan was to get McJesus, not Eichel. The Jets didn't give up this year and played some of their season's most inspired hockey at the end of the season...they ended up with 2nd overall...the Sabres pulled one of the most obvious tanks since the Mario Lemieux draft and got 2nd overall... I'd give up Chiarot, Staf, next year's 1st and Dano for Hanifin but not much more.............Chevy never makes this trade. On Comrie, I haven't checked recently but he was ranked 5th by most analysts when discussing goalies...Hellebuyck was 1st.
  13. siv? not sure what that is? You're about the luck though. Hard to dispute that Staf has played the best of all players involved though.
  14. I must have been smoking weed when I put together that Canes deal. How about this.... Staf, Enstrom, Tanev, and Comrie for Hanifin. TO is taking Matthews and the Jets could take PLD with the 4th and Laine with the 2nd.
  15. Maurice probably won't put two rookies on the same line though...... Laine Scheifele Ehlers Connor Little Wheeler Petan Perreault Armia Lowry Copp Dano What we need to worry about is getting Stuart off of the team........Stu, Thorbs, Staf, Burmistrov should be dealt so the the kids can get some time. That lineup I suggested is VERY young. Where are we going to p lay Staf in theat lineup? Armia gets pushed back to 4th? Dano gets sent down? Same for Thorburn. Burmi just down's impress me if he isn't on the PK. If it were me, I would put together a deal with Myers to Edmonton for their 4th overall. Maybe add Chicago's 22nd overall and Pavelec or Hutchinson. Then I would wrap up Enstrom and Stafford with Stuart and this year's 2nd rounder for Noah Hanifin from the Canes. I would then offer the Isles next year's 1st, Burmistrov and Lemieux for Hamonic. Scheifele stepped into the 1C nicely when Little went down. He was the 2nd highest scorer in the league in March. His line was dominating games. Sutter pulled Kopitar's line off of Scheifele's line in LA at the end of the year because his line, with Ehlers and Wheeler, was all over them.
  16. I think PLD might go higher than Tkachuk...........I'd think very seriously about him if I were picking 4th. He plays C and we probably need one more than you guys. I'm pretty much okay with anyone, even TO, getting the 1st overall as long as Deadmonton doesn't. Thorny, I agree, Chychrun and Juolevi look really good. Sergachev will be good too but I think the Jets, if picking a D man, should pick one with some defensive acumen. We have enough offensive D men. It seems that Myers' contract was honored and he has a NMC kick in this July. This means the Jets will have to protect Myers, Buff and Enstrom and this would leave Trouba exposed (they won't go for 8 skaters and a goalie). Look for Myers or Enstrom to be moved and I am guessing it will be Myers before his NMC kicks in. No way do they leave Trouba exposed. Myers will bring back more than Enstrom would too. I think the best thing would be for the NHL to move a team that isn't doing well (Arizona) to the desert and kill two birds with one stone. The NHL won't because they want the half billion franchise money. Does anyone know if Bogo's NMC kicks in this summer?
  17. The bet was that I said he is traded before his contract ends. The wager is very reasonable and I wouldn't be ashamed to wear a Sabres' jersey....it's not like I am putting a 9 on it and wearing it to a Jets' game. I'd put Ducky's #10 on it and wear it with pride. On a side note, I would like to see the Jets trade this year's first from Chicago and next year's 2nd rounder along with Petan and Burmistrov/Dano for a top 6-10 pick this year. I am a bit against the grain and think Chychrun is going to be a hell of a player as will Logan Brown (sleeper?). Juolevi looks good too if you need an LHD. I'd sooner have Chychrun though.
  18. I just found out that Lemieux showed up late for practice for the Moose and was sat for the next game. He scored two goals and an assist in 5 games but you get called up to the Moose after your junior year ends and you show up late for practice??????? really????????? unfrickinbelievable...
  19. I can see PLD becoming an impact player and even Keller IF they develop properly. I'd also put Juolevi and Chychrun in there...........probably Tkachuk too.
  20. You think there is an impact player between 5th and 9th? Who pray tell. Chychrun if he falls that low maybe....I guess it depends on what you consider an impact player.
  21. Lemieux will be lucky to play on the 3rd, second line is dreaming. Armia will play 2nd before Lemieux. I honestly think we need to move Staf because he could be hindering the youngsters development and he isn't in the long range plans. We aren't winning the cup next year so trade him. I suggested on another site that we trade him with a 2nd from next year and this year's 1st round pick of Chicago's for a top 5-10 out of this upcoming draft. We really need a LHD. I'd like to see the Jets take Chychrun AND Juolevi if we are picking 5th to 9th. If we are picking higher than 5th then I would like to see either of those (preferably Chychrun) and whatever forward we take in the top 5. I'd love to see Connor on a line with Matthews.
