Smart move by both if you ask me. The Jets get Staf for 2 years while developing prospects and Staf gets a mild bump in pay (although living here is very inexpensive compared to other NHL cities), and a chance for a big contract and probably just in time for expansion. He scored nine goals and 10 assists in 26 games and seemed to make the line with Scheifele and Wheeler really come together. We've got some RW prospects that should be ready by then and it is a really shrewd deal by Chevy.

Seeing as it is only 2 years and you would think he will play his ass off for is "BIG" final contract, no, I'm not. It is almost 9% more, though.

Staf re-signs for two years at 4.35 per. I like the term but too much cash....I would have been okay at 4m.

ROR gives you guys one of the best if not the best C lineup in the league. You can't win without quality centermen. If ROR re-signs, Buffalo wins the trade...if he doesn't, they paid dearly. Your GM is smart enough to know that he has to surround his superstar with quality players and he is doing it. You should mention to him that we can trade you Buff and Stuart to help with your D.

What do you guys think of the goalie, Hellebuyck? He is the Jets' goalie on the farm team.

They won 10 cups from 65 to 79....10 out of 15, not bad. There stars weren't all FC....Dryden, Gainey, Shutt, Robinson, etc...Sammy Pollock was a VERY good GM and made some smart trades too. Just think of some of the farm teams back then when there weren't that many teams in the NHL....there must have been some great players down there.

Anyone that thinks there is a racism here towards blacks are not seeing clearly. Little. Ladd and Wheeler have all taken shite and they aren't black. There is not the same attitude towards blacks in Canada as there is the USA. I guide Americans for duck hunting and I see a lot of it. I see racism towards aboriginals here but not to the same degree of hatred. This is in general and I am not trying to upset anyone on this forum. There are dickwads in every country on the planet. Nobody is coming down on Buff because he is (half) black. He is catching it because he is our one legit superstar and he hasn't played like one. Getzlaf and Perry have. Enstrom is really catching a lot of ire around here so are we racist towards Swedes? The Ducks are hammering him EVERY time they have the chance...it is playoff hockey and if the Ducks didn't, they wouldn't be coached well. Buff and Ladd were 2 players in a parting of ways with numerous other players (contracts) after their first cup since 1961. They couldn't stay under the cap. Buff might be moved this off-season if they can't re-sign him. A quality LH shooting D man and a high pick or good prospect in return would do it. Ladd only has a year left too. Glad I'm not the GM of this team. It'll be over shortly and the attention around here will lean towards the draft and off-season trades.

The Ducks and Jets are similar teams....fast and big. Both goaltenders are playing playoff hockey. They are close to equal so far. Their top level players are playing top level. Ours are not. Little checked like a girl on that play. Ladd must be playing hurt because his game has gone dwonhill. There was't much space out there last night but they are more opportunistic and seem to want it more....I wasn't happy with Myers' handling the puck in yesterday's game and he seemed hesitant with it. Little finishes his check, there is no goal and the game goes to OT. Little was on the ice to prevent a goal. oops Screw the missed penalties on the extra man and holding the stick, calls are missed, you have to show the killer instinct and put the game away instead of letting the team back in the game in the third period. The Ducks played better when they needed to. Also, the special teams are sucking hind titty, big time, and theirs is playing very well. Hopefully the home ice advantage means two wins. Where's the goal scorers??? Pardy scores his first goal since 1903 and that's it? The only reason he was in was to help the PK! We need the whiteout to help turn the tide or butter us, we're toast. Leading into the 3rd in both games and nada....... On a sidenote, I hate that the Deadmonton Cryers got the pick. They don't deserve it. They both helped us get into the playoffs and we needed it this year. It gives Scheifele and Trouba and Lowry a taste and also rewards the team for all the hard work....now, if we could just win the game Saturday night.... I see him as a 2nd liner with Scheif and Wheels but as our younger players develop he might see more 3rd line time....all this if he re-signs of course. Lots of guys from Minny on the team. Is he a leader? Not really, we have lots in Ladd, Wheeler, Stuart and Buff. He ahs scored some big goals tho.

All I have to say about that is, If the Caps were to play the Bruins for the cup, I might not watch a game. The Leafs are nothing but a laugh but I despise those two teams. I am okay with Chevy picking because we have two picks in the first and he doesn't necessarily pick by how other teams have a player ranked. Scheifele and Morrissey, for instance. Do you really think he only gears up the year before a contract??? Really??? Explain why he turned it on and wasn't playing that well there. He was a big reason we made the playoffs and i would offer him a 3 year deal but it wouldnl't be more than 12m. He can play 2nd line and would be a VERY good 3rd liner. The Jets have lots of decisions this summer. Frolik is also an UFA as is Tlusty, Slater, Halischuk, Stempniak, and Pardy. Buff and Ladd are on their last year of theirs and there are a few RFAs they should sign to extensions like Scheifele, Lowry and Trouba. Chiarot is an RFA that they wil ldefinitely re-sign. It'll be an interesting year and it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Jets don't have both 1st round picks and Staf, Stempniak and Fro re-sign. Tlusty played for Maurice before but is only getting 4th line time unless of injuries. Is Andrej Meszaros going to test the market?

If we get that far, I would be happy...mainly because we have played VERY well against the hawks this season. 3-2 if I am not mistaken....one of their wins was 31 seconds left in the game....if Pavs stays hot, the skies the limit, if not, it will be a quick playoff.....LOVE to see the Bruins finish where they did tho....frickin hate that team.

Pavs has had shutouts in his last 3 starts... he is playing the best of his career... something like .940 in his last 10 games...how much better do you want? The whiteout is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the congrats guys. I would like nothing better than to watch theSabres and Jets playing the cup final. Even if I were to lose the bet and had to wear a jersey in public, I will put Hawerchuk's name on it and wear it with pride. As a side note, I really liked watching the Sabres when you had Perrault, Robert and Martin (yes, I am THAT old). Also Crozier, Dudley, Fogolin, Gare et al...even Korab! It was a formidable team.

HOOWAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We made it into the post season. I don't think we would have made it without Staf and Myers. Staf = 18 points in 25 games. Myers = 15 points in 25 games. Playoff hockey is back in the peg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
