Since Hall and Jack like the puck, it wouldn't surprise me if after a short trial he gets moved to line 2 to drive play. If KA is as smart as we hope, they may have signed him for 1 year to ease the expansion draft problem if they signed him to a longer term now. Hopefully that's the case, otherwise a 1 year deal doesn't make sense for a player of his ilk.

Wasn't Crawford on the injured list a lot the past 3 years. They may have shied away from him not because of the contract or ability but they couldn't trust him to stay healthy and be there when they needed him.

Rieder in particular was picked because of his rep as a PKr. Which needed to be addressed and one of the things I picked up on the KA interviews was they wanted guys who would address a need. I also got the impression the way they were going to penny pinch so to speak was they were going to give every chance in the world for the young guys Cozens-Thompson and Casey to win a spot on the roster. Casey obviously has the biggest hurdle to climb. I think Cozens and in particular Thompson are ready even though it appears very few else do. From everything I've seen and read, he's worked out this past year and looks like a beast. I'm ok with KA and Freddie to try and mold the roster in their image of the team. As for Kahun, I don't get the impression they were as impressed with him as we were. He only played 11 minutes a game when he was here so I don't think he's the savior some are thinking he might be.

I'm one of the few who still has faith in Casey but I would definitely do that and re-sign Kahun to something reasonable. I really don't want to lose him. Nick should come pretty cheap also

It also could be they thought they were the best forwards available and took them. We'll find out eventually, hopefully they'll be right.

And that has less to do with Quinn’s ability as a prospect (he’s a multi-faceted individual creator who’s game has detail and who’s frame lends itself to continue growth and potential yet-to-be-scratched level) than it does with who else was available. As good as Quinn is, and as exciting as his late-blooming development curve is, there just isn’t a case, for me, for him as a better prospect than a Perfetti or a Rossi. That Rossi was on Quinn’s team, and clearly the best player on that team, makes the pick a weird one for me.

I'm starting to warm to the pick but in real time I was thinking the draft was going better than expected with not just Rossi but PERFETTI was still in play, I thought for sure if they didn't pick Rossi it would be Perfetti. Oh well, hopefully the kid is better than I would have drafted him. I haven't watched or heard his interview yet, only read some comments but he sounds like a confident guy.

I don't understand the consternation with this contract. Miss low but possibly win big with it. From everything we've read on this guy, he put in the work and is a physical beast. At worst a 3RW at best a true power forward, I can't agree with you more.
