  1. That was funny! Yah right.
  2. Do the fans make the really bad coyote sounds? I
  3. Wow, AZ almost scored on them selves again.
  4. There is no bad booze. There are those nectars that might not settle with one's palate, or they may never come to appreciate. But if you insist that Vodka is un-drinkable, I can always drink it for you.
  5. Nice catch glove :P
  6. And may it be as soon as possible, say Friday's home game against Chicago?
  7. Absolutely. But the Pegulas' are still paying a player for several years not to play. I know he is rich, but I'm sure he doesn't like to do that, especially if there is a reasonable chance of moving Cody and passing on his contract so there is no hit to the salary cap. We will all find out soon enough.
  8. That's realistic, it would also do away with players jumping or lifting their legs in front of the net trying to screen the goalie. Not sure if injuries have occurred because of the aerobics in front of the net, but allowing the skate to remain on the ice and using motions to angle it in would add to the game I think.
  9. Oh no you don't! Then what happens if the Sabres potato sackers fall mid race, do we cheer, boo, remain quiet! This has got to end! :w00t:
  10. "It was a good goal, because the offensive players skate blade never left the ice" Promotes safety and scoring
  11. I heard the sarcasm in your voice... That's what makes it all so funny!!
  12. Well there you go!! That sure as hell beats my offer of shoveling snow and in return I get the Clear Russian (Polish Potato if I'm allowed to be a choosey beggar) Nectar and you have to pull the TV out of the closet, with a working remote. Liger, if NS says no I can be there next weekend.
  13. They get nothing for him by buying him out. I realize he has a multi-year contract. I just don't see a buy out vs. any other offer and GMTM not taking the "any other offer". No one was taking the Ehrhoff contract and playing him out the term of the contract, even though most considered him a very good player. It was the end of Ehrhoff's contract that grenaded a trade deal for the Sabres. Cody's contract is in line for a 2nd or 3rd line center, so a tradable contract. The debate then becomes is Cody "the player" worth the chance. To the Sabres (no buyout) and to a potential trade partner. I think yes, but it will garnish little in return. The biggest part of trading Cody is not buying him out.
  14. I agree 100%. GMTM is building a Western Conference type team here, Cody is not in the long term plans. Montréal? Rangers? Speed, skill, high pace teams. I think he would be a good fit, but I just don't see getting much for him.
  15. And what fun is that!!! We need out spoken loud mouthed sports figures here. Hell, it gives us a break from complaining about the weather.
  16. If the start of 2015-16 is stellar for Cody ( through the first 35 games on pace for a 12-15 goal season) an up/down, big club/ minor club player. I keep thinking that GMTM has a hand full of the Nick Deslauriers trade types he is ready to pull off. Each club gets an NHL player if they can revive or kick start their game. If Cody starts 15-16 the same as he has ended this season, a third plus rounder. Some team will take a small chance that their coach can revive Cody's game. I just don't see a Cody Hodgson on the LA Kings, so I don't envision him with the Sabres, as that seems to be the model for GMTM.
  17. This sounds like a player trying to make lemonade from the season of lemons. “I love playing with Ellis,” Hodgson said. “He works so hard, creates so many loose pucks out there. He’s smart and plays on the right side of the puck, backchecks harder than anyone I’ve played with. He’s always in the right position and it makes the game easy to play. Cody will be here longer than Nolan. Neither will be here next year at this time. I think Cody is part of trade deadline package in 2016. GMTM will let no asset walk without compensation.
  18. We are reading from the same script. Darcy is exactly where he needs to be. In my mind his glaring weakness as GM was to find quality centers in the later picks of the draft (outside the top 20). No easy task, but he gave himself enough chances to at least get a few. His biggest strength is putting a fair team on the ice with a limited budget, in a time of franchise turmoil. He has lived it, so a good sounding board for the current GM.
  19. Are the Bills mirroring the Sabres? Pegulla buys the Sabers, who are devoid of talented centers (hockey's respective quaterbacks), and the Bills who have spent a decade trying to find Kelly's replacement. The repective GMs try to go out and build up around a glaring deficiency, because the ability to obtain their respective needs is just never obtainable except by draft, no one gets rid of a really good center or quarterback. Is E.J. Manuel the Bills version of Grigeranko. A too soon pick for a glaring need by a desperate GM? Is 2017 the year of the generational quarterback? Do the Bills Tank, as their only means to get one if it is?
  20. The Sabres sucked last year, but dam, they fought well.
  21. So it's not out of the realm of possibility, but the Sabres trade partner would have to be a combination of dumb, crazy, and desperate. Which makes the flip of this also true, the Sabres trading up to No. 1 would have the same attributes.
  22. Edmonton is holding #2, any change? Or as chz says "hellz no" will be the only appropriate response?
  23. Maybe? What do I get for giving up my #1 overall pick. You're Arizona, go ahead tempt me....
  24. You are at an age that I bet you can look back and say " I had one of those years". A defining time or moment that left you with the motivation/determination to never allow "something" to happen again. I have had 3 of these "events". For each I was initially mad, blamed another person or entity for my predicament, swore I would get even by working my azz off and "showing them". This is one of those times for a group of young NHL players. I hope they work their azzes off and show us they didn't deserve the treatment and the cat calling by otherwise loyal fans (next year please). Thankfully some jack azz, that should also have known better, wasn't shoving a microphone/recorder in my face asking for my thoughts just after it happened. All players get a free pass from me, no matter the sport, right after a game if they are mad and speak frankly and its not a politically correct rant. I expect Mike Weber to be much more insightful in his next go around with the media when this is brought up. And frankly, I believe the "cheering" it is going to get louder and longer each game till the Sabres clinch DFL.
  25. :worthy: A true NFG statement if there ever was one!
