That is a cool story. Interesting how he says that this ECHL game at 47 is up there and maybe surpasses his first NHL game. He says he expected to make the NHL but not to be asked to play pro at 47, in his hometown. I’ve been a background actor for season 2&3 of Shoresy and have met a few actors, Dolo being the most prominent one. Terry walked nearby one day but I didn’t get the chance to chat. He’s had an interesting life, very funny guy, like many Newfoundlanders I have met.

Tocchet has been the biggest factor imo. The lineup hasn’t changed much, Demko is healthy this year though.

This. As soon as he gets the puck he goes east or west, dangling. The back pressure easily catches up and contains him. Going north and just shooting is a recipe for his success.

I was unable to watch last night so I didn’t see how the PP unit performed. IMO Skinner can easily be replaced on PP1. Yes he scores but he gives the puck away with bad passes and he doesn’t help on zone entries. I think someone like Quinn can bring more to the first unit and may be a blessing in disguise. Skinner’s overall offense will be missed, however.

I have nothing intelligent to offer, just that my expectations were higher than they have been in a long time and this team has crushed my hopes. I don’t think any of us will be labeled as bandwagon fans when they eventually get to the playoffs. We’ve suffered so much by having been invested in this franchise, I don’t blame anyone for not watching or caring.

I wonder if he is only anti Flyers or if he is like Fox, who only wanted to be a Ranger. If he doesn’t want to sign with the Ducks, his trade value will drop.

I’ll stick to Jekyll and Hyde, the Bugs Bunny version, evil bird of prey or a Tweety bird.

Being a UFA inspires a lot of players to have career years. I am happy for Sam, I liked him a lot as a Sabre. Nylander is another one. They are in their primes but teams will be paying big $$$ for past performance.

I am glad TNT got a pair of goals, this might get him going. You could see how Skinner was happy for him, TNT had probably been very frustrated with his play, maybe more than us. Mitts keeps chugging along, our steady Eddie this year. I have been one of Quinn’s biggest backers and he is not letting me down. He cannot be at 100% yet but he is back and making a difference. Levi finding some consistency going forward from this game would be awesome. He’s still a rookie who will have hiccups but I don’t believe KA isn’t sending him back down. Power and Mule were better, baby steps. They haven’t been able to put a streak together so my expectations are very low, prove me wrong boys.

Last year I liked that he had a no panic game that made him find an open man or a short pass to move the puck up to a safe area. This year it looks like he can’t make the quick decisions and he seems to not have any hustle when it is needed. Maybe his low panic threshold makes him look like he has no sense of urgency. I hate watching him dawdle up the ice with the puck when there is only 20 seconds left on the PP, move it!

My problem is that I would have time to take up something new. I love hockey and get all of the games, maybe I’ll watch other teams more. I’d hate to be labelled a bandwagon jumper if they ever get decent, I guess I could pull out the ratty Perreault sweater to prove my fanhood.

There is too much talent to be this bad. They tease us with beating top teams and then put up stinkers the very next outing. It just hurts so I have to turn it off. At least I didn’t make my way to Ottawa for this one.

Happy New Year to everyone, I am starting to not want to watch these guys, which hurts a lot. My Sabres wish for 2024 is just better play so they are at least entertaining, that is all.
