While Pegula has had a quick trigger finger to fire GMs I think he gives KA a full season. Missing the playoffs, again, should be the line in the sand. Pegula should make this clear and KA needs to act accordingly. Keep the baby Sabres but make the role guys next level. Get the Goodrow, Coleman, Gourde, Paul, Maroon, Perry, Colton types that Tampa identified to fill out roles. DG is well liked by almost everyone in the organization. I think it is time to move on from him and bring in a grittier, experienced coach. KA probably keeps DG but has a fixed amount of games to show that they can make it. One ex coach that hasn’t been mentioned is Quennevlle. I know he really messed up and he should have to own up to his role in that fiasco. If he has payed his penance and gets a pardon from Bettman, he would be chomping at the bit for a job and should be looking to redeem himself. If his sins were too awful then get Gallant or Berube, they have been to the playoffs.

He could. He doesn’t have the same defensive game as Benson but he has way more speed. He will be 20 next winter so he should be a bit stronger than Benson right now.

Last season I would have said Bryson, hands down. He has taken a step forward this year so he is no longer my whipping boy. I would prefer RyJo to him next season. VO got my vote, he’s a lame duck player who just isn’t effective enough to carve out a niche. You know you’re wimpy when Quinn Hughes crushes you with a hit. He scored some nice goals as a Sabre but I won’t miss the frustration of watching him avoid contact to make a play or to get the puck out of the zone. I don’t hate him, I just can’t stand watching him.

He’s also a UFA. Probably going 95% in an 80% league. I really like him but it’s all downhill from here.

The title of this thread says it all. I doubt anyone can come in and have a real impact. Levi could but he may be better served with another AHL season. KA may count on him to make it but he should pursue a good backup. Ryan J. is another that can play regularly, but he’s not a game breaker, just a 6-7 Dman. I think Novikov and Komarov are good prospects but are not ready for NHL duty. Savoie, Kulich and Rosen will be given a look at a top 9 slot and they need to step up a notch to take it.

I think there will be an opening for one of these guys. I would think Savoie has the inside track right now but playoffs and a summer to get stronger could give others a chance. I want KA to not bank on any of these guys but if Savoie has a great camp he could get a top 9 role. Krebs is just not looking like a 3C so I hope KA gets a real one this summer. Savoie seems like a possible winger, that would be easier for him than C to break in.

Just finished Full Swing season 2 on Netflix, I love golf and the getting inside the ropes and all of the background stuff is cool. Starting on season 6 of Drive to Survive. I don’t watch F1 but I love this show.

TNT was a beast in the first, I hope he keeps it up. He was skating hard and using his body.

Canada will have to play a possession game to limit shots against because I don’t trust the goaltending. This is weakest goaltending I have seen for Canada in over 50 years of international hockey. The way they played in the last Olympics, they gave up very few shots. USA has a huge advantage in net, I would take your third stringer.
