August will be the 2022 Championship while December will be the 2023 Championship. Most teams turn over about 80% of their teams year to year as it is a 19 year old tournament. I don’t mind this as it gives kids a once in a lifetime experience. This is the highlight of a few hockey careers.

I am pulling for any team that plays Vegas, because of the draft pick. Jack is nowhere near the top of my favourite Sabres so I don’t care much except I want Tuch, Krebs to outscore him every year. One thing that bugs me is by the time the Sabres are a contender the NHL will probably have clamped down on the LTIR rules. They will need a few million in cap space to trade for UFA Reinhart at the deadline.

Dylan is not a heavyweight but he would have jumped on Lucic when Miller got mugged. We need some jam.

Wow, that was a nail biter. Rybar was perfect in the shootout. The announcers said he was their number 3 goalie at the start.

USA & Slovakia game now into shootout. Quite the way to decide a single knockout game. Rybar and Mann were both solid in net.

Good win, the aisles were gassed for the last 10 minutes and they took advantage. Great building block win for the young guys. Cozens with 3 apples. Pysyk was solid all game. Tuch is better than I thought he could be. Krebs is nifty, I still see some Gilmour minus the stick work. I can’t believe DG kept putting out Eakin vs Barzal. He also put out Eakin’s line for an offensive zone draw when the game was tied. I am trying not to be negative after a win but Eakin played too much. Bjork does nothing. Quinn and Peterka would bump up the talent level by a huge amount. Beat the Sens and have a three win streak boys!

I wonder if any teams acquire goaltending depth for the playoff run? I don’t recall seeing it happen much but if some platooning teams are not sold on one or both you never know. If this were to happen, there could be a couple of goalies available after the capless playoffs are over. Dallas’ number 1 is Oettinger and I believe they are still carrying Holtby and Khudobin. Plus, Bishop just retired. I don’t really want Khudobin but this is an example of how teams may have an extra goalie available for next year.

They don’t look strong enough to go all the way but you never know in single game elimination. Eric Staal as a go to doesn’t give me warm fuzzy feelings. They need to steal a game or two by a goalie standing on his head and I’m not sure these journeymen are up to the task. I’m glad the Sabres didn’t hire Julien because he would play JAGs instead of Cozens, Krebs, Quinn and Peterka.

Nice. My Dad was a lifelong Ford guy and I’ve had 4 F150s over the years. Mine were mostly inline 6 cylinders but one was a 5.0. Ford has had a version of the 5.0L or 302 around a long time. Enjoy the newfound cab space. I have my first crew cab now (Toyota Tundra) and it is cavernous compared to the extended cabs or old single cabs like my first two trucks.

Levi didn’t even dress as a backup. I hope Julien never gets another NHL job. Levi will need to re focus on finishing strong with the Huskies and be in the mix for the Hobey Baker.

I love the idea of 2 or more franchise Dmen. The Canadiens teams of the 70s always had one of Robinson, Salvard or Lapointe on the ice, many times 2 of them. Same with the Avs when they had Blake, Foote and Bourque. Tough to beat teams like that.
