Chemistry quiz. KA has been talking a lot about character and wanting to be here. I know it is important but should it outweigh making moves? I hate the Leafs but am interested on how the playoffs go for them. They kept the core but brought in 6 new faces to date. More than 1/4 of the team is changed at the deadline. Is the culture of the core more important than the culture of the whole team? Does talent trump all? I still believe goaltending will be their downfall, but this much turnover could cause problems too.

They meet Columbus again in the last game of season. That game could mean getting in the playoffs. It would be great in many ways to win that one.

I disagree with a Norris level Dman not being able to help. He is fast enough to get there first, slippery enough to outmaneuver the forecheck, big enough to stand up to forecheckers and dangerous enough to make them think twice about what will happen. He also takes minutes away from all of those who can’t do it.

Dahlin would’ve helped because he would have the puck and they would be chasing him or backchecking.

I’ve mentioned Fabbro before. It doesn’t look like he has progressed in Nashville. He was an offense first Dman in the NCAA and Junior A. He’s been behind Josi, Ekholm, Ellis forever and now Carrier has seemed to pass him. A change of scenery might help, not sure if he is top 4, but you never know.

When McDavid was ripping up the OHL, Dylan Strome and Alex Debrincat were good scorers for the Otters. Bedard is nearly 40 points ahead of his nearest teammate.

Matt Savoie is tied for 7th in WHL scoring. He has a shot to move into top five in the next few games. He’s miles behind Bedard but having a solid season.

Yes, and they are behind the Sabres. I thought he would be done after his failed stint in Buffalo.

If Stillman can push Bryson and Clague down a rung it will be a good trade. Your post brought back a sad memory, “we got Matt Irwin!”.

He has definitely taken a step forward. He doesn’t look out of place on that line. He has a different style of game than Tuch but is IQ and his linemates’ IQ is high so they’ve meshed quickly. He also needs more PP time. I’ve had enough of KO on PP2 or VO on PP1.

I haven’t been on the Chychrun train at all. It seems too rich for a 3-4D. Last night exposed the Sabres without Dahlin. Power tried but is not ready for 1D duty. The drop off to Mule, Joker, Boosh, Clague and Bryson is massive. I don’t want to sell the farm but if KA is the last man standing on Friday, he should take a good swing at Chychrun.

Isles get at least one point, going to OT vs Wild.

Dahlin was really missed tonight, the D struggle with every aspect of the game. Power tried but he is not ready and was burnt out. Mule cannot generate offense and the rest are liabilities. Joker looked like an AHLer tonight. Even a loser point would help for Pete’s sake.

Not the end of the world but that was brutal. Might have been the easiest opponent of the month.
