He's a good pick, I like McIsaac more than him as he has a little more offensive upside. But, it's a good pick that definitely improves our back end. This is where the Sabres had to invest some of their capital in picks. Now hopefully it's offense going forward.

The Islanders and Wings are killing it. WTH is Montreal doing. Ylonen was a good pick, but Romanov? Who are you kidding?

Wahlstrom is someone I'm so high on, jesus if there were a way to climb up!

Hayton is a solid prospect, but this is a shock. Zadina to #6, I'd be on the phone. Ugh, crazy!

Drombuie flowing, the dogs at my side, AC on in Phoenix AZ.

Thank you so much!

Does anyone have a steam. NBC isn't working for me.

Skinner is a bum, on the other hand Lindholm is a player I'd love to return in a deal for Ryan O'Reilly. If they were willing to send him here with a 2nd and another piece.

DRAFT DAY BAY BAY! Chicken Wings and a cold one to watch The Swedish Invasion continue!

The first news to trend this team upwards. Letting go of past mistakes, owning them and not trying to reap a reward from a sinking asset. Lehner was at times good for Buffalo at others a complete headcase. Good luck Robin!

He reminds of Boeser as well. He's the one guy outside of Kotkaniemi that I'm all about as far as outside the top 2 forwards. So if we had a shot at Wahlstrom, I'd be swinging to bring him in. He's easily as tantalizing a talent as anyone and he's a better skater than Zadina.

This isn't going to happen. Trading for a player who can opt to UFA, is 29 coming off a very average season and conditional second. We'll easily keep O'Reilly over trading him to an in-division rival for a player who's entering the start of his 30th year old season. There is NO WAY this happens.

Scandella, Pilut and Bailey - Sabres Next Season?
Rasmus_ replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Remains, sent down for more seasoning (eventually called up) and signs new tender and sent down. -
I think that is dependent on pressures to pursue the right fit for a top six center as well as the team's window for a push at the cup and the cap flexibility available. So I do think it's not impossible to get in around the top five area. Bergevin already took a downgrade on Galchenyuk. Berggren is an interesting case of a high riser who makes sense for the teams build going forward. I also like Olofsson a bit. There are a number of interesting prospects that should be in that range. Somewhere I want to snag Jack Drury, the more I watch of this kid, the more I just want him in the system. He seems like a sneaky good play.

This is a joke right? For a team that doesn't have the depth to accommodate adding that kind of cap, trading our best defensive forward for Karlsson who isn't getting younger and has had some injury problems lately and doesn't play defense. This is a terrible idea. Build up the depth of the D. If you want to go for the fences, then why not try to trade for one of the CLB studs in their lower 20's. I understand the attraction to Karlsson, but the Sabres are in their infancy of climbing out of the black hole of hell's despair that Regeir and Murray buried their fans under. Now I WAS a believer at the beginning of Murray. However, look at the totality of the sum of all parts. Scrap this, and focus on getting faster and younger. I know that futures isn't the attractive idea. However, the post earlier in this thread with a St. Louis Blues for 2019 1st, Robert Thomas and Vince Dunn. Which would put the team in the path of adding more and not less. Yes, quality over quantity. However, this team needs to add youth, speed, and skill. Not age, decline and contract purgatory. It's great to quantify possibilities. But until Ullmark or UPL or another goalie comes in, and the depth is cohesive and our coaching structure works, this team is still barely a 10 seed let a lone making it to the 8th. I will continue to be realistic.

Best defensemen of his generation, and I put 50 points plus. I'm going high bar on this one.

Perfect fit in Ottawa. ZING.
-
12 goals 28 assists for 40 points. A decent showing on the PP and in terms of face off percentage. It could be more in the 15 goal 20 assist range as well.

Duchene is very hollow when it comes to stats, and game play. I don't want anything to do with Galchenyuk. I'd rather it be Poehling, Mete, 3rd.
-
Denisenko could go anywhere from 11 to 32 to be honest. There is no reason to think he couldn't fall.
-
Dominik Bokk, KAndre Miller, Mattias Samuelsson, Jett Woo, Jakub Lauko (really would love him in the third) -- if we could get a third back. Okay, and if Jared McIsaac falls to the 2nd round pick, please take him. I don't understand the hate on him free falling. He seems like a Brandon Carlo pick to me. Who was talented in his draft year and fell to the top of the second round. Give me that!

I like this. Time to get rid of guys who haven't done anything with big time role opportunities. Not a bad player, just not what we need. New faces.

O’Reilly, Smith and Lehner - Sabres Next Season?
Rasmus_ replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I honestly don't see the value in seeing him for another year. I think at this point it could become toxic if he's back and is demoted below Ullmark (who would have to win the job outright of course). However, I think at this point, cutting bait is almost the preferred component. It allows you to bring in someone who can compete and give a new voice in the room and on the ice. I would almost rather have one year of Nilsson than Lehner back next year. I'm split on O'Reilly. I don't know if it's better for the team long term if he stays or goes for speed, youth and flexibility. It will be dictated by the offers out of the gate of course. If someone over extends themselves then I assume he'll be dealt. Likely, he's here for the long haul. -
No thanks. Not the proper response to this team.

Better today than Larry in year 5.
