  1. Every day of the week I'll pick delayed gratitude in order to achieve greatness. I don't want a good team, I want an elite team.
  2. I'm not too concerned either. I think we all have bosses in our chosen fields that we respect, but whose professional opinions differ than ours. Still, they're in charge now and we can do things differently when we are the boss. I'm sure TM never had the final say in Otawa, but he is a professional, so I trust him to make the best decisions for our team now.
  3. Bad website, but has me salivating. Tank on! http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2143692-hockeys-future-mcdavid-eichel-and-the-race-to-no-1-in-2015
  4. Like him installing a Joe Battista into the Bills FO? He's injected cronies into the Sabres organization, so I'd expect no different with the Bills. The real question is whether Whaley would tolerate it or role over. It seems like it takes a strong personality, like what TM has and PLF didn't have, to deal with it. The 2nd question is whether us fans even care, as long as we aggressively pursue a Super Bowl.
  5. Geez, he must really hate Wayne Gretzky. Otherwise, I think this is a high risk, high reward hire. The guy had been out of coaching for a while, but was great when he was.
  6. This: http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/24/justice/arizona-execution-controversy/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 ZFG
  7. I know you had to cut it off at some point, but did you leave out Dennis Persson & Marak Zagrapan on purpose? These would have been players hitting their prime right about now. Then: Ennis is no one to be excited about - 3rd liner, Myers may be turning the corner after 6 full years. Zack Kassian = garbage pick. Armia...I'm certainly not going to hold my breath. The rest, I agree, too early to tell, but none are likely to be elite talents, which is what the 1st round is all about. It's really hard to get that excited about our prospects when we're talking about 2nd and 3rd line ceilings. I do love our blue liners though...and Sam, of course.
  8. Well, my point was that it was a really dumb thing to say. But anyways, what does he about all the wild animals (squirrels, rabbits, birds, etc) that ###### in his yard? And no ones following behind them to clean up after them either. Must be rough on him. Pretty friendly guy. That was a fine gesture.
  9. This is a good write-up. Appreciate it. Makes me feel better about our future then just seeing a list of the invitees (which isn't that impressive in itself). I just wish we had a better hit percentage for our 1st rounders over the last few years.
  10. Don't worry, he's a mild-mannered gentleman off the ice who turns into a madman once on it.
  11. We can trade them Myers for Reinhart plus their 2016 1st. In fact, as long as Snow's their GM, they should automatically give us their 1st 'cus we own him.
  12. Should we start a petition on Change.org?
  13. No ###### given? States botching executions of unremorseful criminals convicted of brutal murders. Like that guy in Oklahoma. Absolute zero ###### given. If someone told me that, I would've told him to be my guest. I would've then filmed it and uploaded it to YouTube and said who's the ass now? No offense, but that was a really strange thing to say. Plus, last I checked dogs can't ###### in toilets and it's not like they're shitting on your front porch or walkway.
  14. I understand what you're saying there. Shakespeare is undoubtedly a literary genius, unquestionable. But there had to be tens of thousands of other authors from the same time period that were pretty damn good, but likely have been buried by the sands of time and the inability to mass produce books back then. 400 years from now, I don't think today's authors will have this problem. Anyway, so Sam Reinhart... I certainly hope the denizens of 2300 don't view Miley Cyrus the same way we view Bach (who was considered a "rock star" back then).
  15. True. You could look at it that way. I was mostly saying that because TM probably offered him more money than what he ended up getting from STL. And perhaps other teams did too and he held out. That's fine. He'll be great for the Tank then. And then he'll light it up in 5 years when McDavid & Rheinhart & co are gunning for the Cup.
  16. I'm pretty sure he did. But, it's likely Ott and his agent said "we'll keep looking" thinking the'd get a better offer elsewhere. GMTM then said "fine, suit yourself" and went on his FA shopping spree and effectively took Ott's original offer off the table. Ott rolled the dice and lost. Looks like the NHL didn't value his play that much either.
  17. Don't forget to roll some coal on them.
  18. I'll be surprised if we don't turn around and flip him to Garth for a 3rd.
  19. It won't matter. He'll be one player in a sea of incompetence. So, he scores 30 goals? That alone won't be enough to lift us out of the basement considering they'll be no Miller to keep us in games. Then we'll ship him out at the deadline, hopefully, and ensure the tank by dropping the rest of the remaining games. Don't forget, we had Vanek during the beginning of the season and were still in last place.
  20. I'll definitely be tuned-in to see how it works out for them over the next 5 years. Do their cap hits increase in as contract ages? Edit: never mind. Front loaded. Good for all parties.
  21. You do realize Crosby only has 1 Cup right??? I don't want just 1 cup, and I doubt TM does either. Point still remains, one "generational talent" doesn't equal consistent winning.
  22. I'll be sure to remember that next time an off-topic conversation about normal human physiology and emotion happens to pop up. I know, we should be above that, right? Good talks as in the use of proper grammar and pronunciation I bet.
