  1. I had thought that I had eaten summer squash every way possible. I’ve eaten a LOT of summer squash. Then I stumbled on to summer squash tots. Dude. If you threw a little Old Bay in there you’d swear you were eating a Maryland crab cake. De-friggin-licious!
  2. Also there is this too. Yosemite. You know. Just like Semite. ***** genius!
  3. And that’s exactly why I wash my hands like a mofo. I’m not exactly a germophobe but I have always been creeped out with all these dirty IWs wanting to use my gloves or borrow my welding hood. Eww. F no! We put a sulfur dioxide scrubber on an old coal fired power plant back in the day. The new technology had everyone stand in line and scanning their hands on the same scanner to get in and out of the site . I used hand sanitizer every time and these dummies would bust my balls but I did not give one F. Eventually an outbreak of Norovirus took out 160 of the 200 on site. Not this cat though.?
  4. Amen to that my friend. Real solutions that provide real answers for the majority of people come from dialogue and if one voice has the power to silence the other voices then ideas aren’t exchanged and solutions get overlooked. That’s an eye opener for me. I’ve never had to deal with the threat and never really thought about it before. I’m curious about the work you are doing in the tropics that exposes you to malaria?
  5. You could very well be right but that doesn’t make IT right.
  6. So you mention the inner city and it’s fine, I mention the inner city and it’s political? Puh-leeeeeeez! Its all about policy with me. Inner city people have less access to good food. Period. They have less training on how to grow their own food. Period. That’s exactly why I grow extra seedlings, to disperse in the inner city organizations that start gardens and try to teach children about good food and how to grow it. That’s why this is the second bin this size this week that I distribute to the free produce markets all over the city. You don’t like my personality or style? Fine! But get your GD finger off the delete button. People are trying to reach out to help people you jerk. BTW, still awaiting those stats. And, I love you, man?.
  7. For starters, that deleted post was written well within the boundaries of the code of conduct of this site. It wasn’t negative, didn’t mention any politician or political party and didn’t even meet the standard of a post that gets moved to the politics thread, yet you let your emotion allow you to do a dishonorable thing and delete it. It was an unfair thing to do as it leads the average poster to believe that I crossed a line. Now the post has disappeared, I don’t even have a copy to refute the deletion! What friggin country am I in?! I’m not an overly political person. What you call animus the people I work for call advocacy. I’m driven 100% by policy. I don’t give a rats rear end what party brings my policy to life. For the second term in a row I ran unopposed and for the second election in a row I won my office by the biggest margin of all of those that ran unopposed! It’s my policy and not my politics that win people over. I will step over any person, politician or party that stands in my way to ensuring a continuation and better dispersement of the benefits that my organization offers to people from all colors, shapes, genders, orientations and walks of life. In our PM exchange you offered to reinstate if I wanted. Do you know what I REALLY wanted you to do? I wanted you to man up and admit that you should have at the very most just moved it. Your emotion and position here permitted you to violate my first amendment right. What YOU did was wrong and the condescending language you used with the “constant complaining” comment doesn’t come off as very understanding of that. I mentioned your Deleter statues exactly twice in the six months since the act of deletion. Do you really feel that’s an appropriate response? I could have gotten pissy and gotten GroupLove involved for the sheer comic effect alone, but I didn’t go there. That’s exactly why I didn’t let you reinstate the post. I didn’t have the confidence that it would not have been altered from its original wording. That’s why I deferred and went with the Resiliency of the American People thread instead. That is also why I memorialize everything I post here. Just in case my rights are infringed on again because as far as I know, I’m still a free American. Correct me if I’m wrong.
  8. And I’ll be completely honest. This really pisses me off! How often are you telling people they need to link with facts when they make random claims! I’m not necessarily saying you’re wrong (although every cell in my body is telling me you are), the CDC is telling you your wrong. https://www.cdc.gov/pcd/issues/2019/18_0579.htm And out of all those groups listed here as the highest rates of obesity ( and health issue arising from it), how many predominantly live in the inner city? We wonder why there are racial disparities?! JFC! BTW, there is no universe in existence where a whopper is a healthy food item.
  9. Dude. Would you agree that taking the words out of someone’s mouth (by deleting a perfectly fine post that you just don’t happen to agree with) is just a detrimental to the having of a meaningful conversation? Asking for a friend.
  10. I have so much storable produce that I could live all winter without going out. That was sort of the theme when I planned things this year. Next year I hope to isolate things more so I can go all heirloom.
  11. This is the current season’s delicata to get a good idea of where I get my notions from.
  12. Another mystery squash that has burst from the the compost pile. The plant looks like a pumpkin but not the squash. I did have delicata out with the pumpkins. That’s my best guess. And apparently these new hybrids produce like crazy. There are at least a dozen of these on the single plant.
  13. At first I laughed and then I got a creepy feeling. That movie really shook me when I was a kid.
  14. Who is saying this? I said he does use his size to gain the advantage. @inkman was saying he wished he’d play a little more angry. How do we get to him not being physical? So if your boss offered you a $600G raise to get rowdy and rough up someone up in the hallway, not hurt them, just get in their grill and make them really uncomfortable, would you do it? AND, his grit grew in that first pro season, which he was late to join. What’s your evaluation from having had watched him play?
  15. It’s a great exercise when done properly. Stay seated(eliminates all possible cheats), use a light weight, the shoulder is a collection of smaller muscles, and don’t ever let the angle between the shoulder and elbow drop below 90 degrees! Military press isn’t about how much you do, it’s how strictly you do it. Start with an empty bar and as many reps as you can do just to get the range of motion right. Get those smaller muscles on board first. The weight on the bar will come.
  16. We have a vacation coming up at a beach house on LBI ocean side right on the beach. It was all paid for before the pandemic. Now I hear there’s 34 COVID positive lifeguards on the island. We can truck in all we need and be inconsequential to the overall COVID load but, but if the beaches end up closed what’s the point? How could you let a bunch of young lifeguards hold the fate of your industry in their hands and not want a bigger commitment from them? The beach is your friggin industry! Whatever. Money lost is better than lives lost.
  17. Critters. I feel for you @ubkev, but if it makes you feel any better you have supported an entirely new generation of critter. I think the universe ultimately favors life and you’ve provided it buddy! I know I complain about the vermin but my work isn’t just for me. In the old world I would feed them and they would feed me.
  18. Big. Old. Brett. Murray! I’ve been watching this guy. He was criticized for his skating but he looked pretty smooth at the BCA. I’d like to see how he responds to the big club. I’ve seen him use his size to get position, not dominantly, but he knows he’s a big dude. I’m willing to bet that some bigger money in a bigger league would alter his play style.
  19. A little dry rub and then smoke those buggers with some cherry wood. Yes. Smoked wings. Or Irish mafia fries a wing just right and their Loyal Gold sauce has the right amount of sweet and spice.
  20. It ain’t natural. I’ve been weight lifting and Ironworking for almost 30 years. Six weeks in a sling doesn’t erase 30 years in the gym. Ironically though, the 30 years of intense activity is directly responsible for the injury. Which is my original point. Work hard, enjoy yourself, but listen to your body and don’t let it consume you. And it is sooooo ***** addicting!
  21. Just starting some very light weight training. It’s weird because I’m still muscular so people are looking at me at PT like I’m some weirdo in there with my 5 lbs weight and rubber friggin bands! They don’t know I’m squatting 300 lbs down in my basement?.
  22. If you don’t live in Rochester you wouldn’t know that Kodak has been a chemical manufacturing site for a long time now, and have had many contracts with the US government. There is an extensive underground complex there and a nuclear reactor was removed from that site a few years ago. Kodak Park is massive and the stories I have from having worked in there on and off for decades would blow your mind. This really is the stuff they’ve been doing there for years. I haven’t seen the specifics of the deal but there have been many federally promised deals here in Rochester that never seem to materialize. I’m sure it’s not political though?.
