It’s so hard not to dwell on the O’Reilly deal. He’s one hell of a player. I’ve said it before, but I really hope it was a Pegula directive to move him. I know others don’t like “meddling,” but I don’t take issue with an owner of a business taking issue with out-of-office behavior and taking the necessary action, regardless of how much it stings. Milbury was right in calling him a superstar. He’s been top three at his role in the NHL for years now.

If the fans pushed out RoR then JBott should be fired. No GM should take fans into consideration when making a deal. If the team wins, they’ll get over it.

When interviewing coaches, a GM should be looking for a coach who fits his model. When considering accepting a job, a coach should be contemplate whether or not the players available and the GM are suitable for the style he wants to play. Beyond that, no GM should consider the coach when evaluating players. The GM should already be certain the have a coach that fits their system and that the player will succeed in that system.

Evander Kane wasn’t going to sign here. He was moved at the deadline because of it. This happens to teams every season. It’s called maximizing your assets. He does not factor into anything anymore. He would have walked for nothing. Jbott got something. I’m sick of reading his name.

I’d rather have Sam for 8 more years than Skinner for 8 more. I’d say we’re lucky if it comes in under 8 at this point. Should have been closer to 7.

He was 63rd in points last year. How is that not top line production?

200 more goals puts Skinner roughly at 60th all-time in goals. I have a very hard time believing Jeff Skinner will go down as the 60th best goal scorer in NHL history.

I’m 83% sure that if you look through the main Skinner contract thread that he’s reported something similar before.
