Baseball isn’t destroying itself with analytics. Rob Manfred is destroying baseball. Analytics are why there’s all the great young talent there is today.

I know it wasn’t. Your point was what they were saying isn’t applicable. I agree with you. I am saying that understanding baseball analytics and hiring from their front office can be worthwhile for a variety of reasons, none of which were mentioned.

We can absolutely talk about how the advancements in analytics and advanced scouting in baseball can impact baseball, but the above is focusing on the wrong aspects. Bat speed, contact rates, route efficiency, sprint times, etc. The entire statcast system that has been so amazing for baseball is being similarly implemented in the NHL and smart teams are going to be on the forefront of gathering and applying this data for all sorts of purposes. Hiring from MLB teams for front office positions makes perfect sense. No other sport has the bevy of front office personnel that baseball has. I know none of this is news to you, but just throwing it out.

from what I've gathered elsewhere this incident took place inside their Chase Club seats that come with a lounge. The person in the video was told beforehand they would not be able to wear their jersey in the lounge, but would be fine to wear their jersey at their seat. Evidently they were told wrong information. Apparently these are seats prominently featured on TV and TB wants the TV audience to show TB jerseys.

I should have rephrased—I like Turcotte more than both of them. I am not as enamored with Rossi as others are, but I do like Boldy a lot. I’m almost to the point where unless an Eichel trade swings wildly in either direction, I will be ambivalent.

I don’t have much to say other than I like Boldy more than Rossi but I don’t want either to be the centerpiece of an Eichel deal. Turcotte is better than both of them.

Canes fans, per my experience, also don’t like us nor think very highly of us. Though I doubt too many people in the Buffalo area are interacting with Canes fans on any sort of regular basis. Having spent roughly 8 of the past 11 years in a Carolina, it’s enough for me to dislike them. Great organization right now, though. I hope they fall flat on their face yearly in the playoffs so I can keep catching playoff hockey in person now and then.
