If you guys knew anything about Kane other then what you see on a start sheet you'd be worried about this kid reporting to Buffalo. He just got traded to the worst Nhl team. A trade very well may have been what Kane needed. To me it's a roll of the dice if he actually works to win this trade for us. To me it seems like a chance this could make him care even less! Did anyone think of that? You just expect him to be a professional. This kid is one of the most skilled players in the league. I really hope he grasps the fact that he will be called upon to be a leader, not captain or anything but I expect the younger youngsters will be looking up to him. Whether he makes the most of this remains to be seen. If he reaches his potential and grows up, we will not regret this trade even if Myers finds his own. If he doesn't.... Well then it's a catastrophe

The jets don't need to make the playoffs this year, although it would be nice to see. I think chevaldayoff realizes that there are a lot of good teams in the West outside of a wildcard spot and is happy Kane is having surgery so he's not rushed I to making a bad trade. Don't expect Kane to go unless the return is a proven top 6 forward with some contract left.

He is the kind of guy who doesn't care about his team or working to get better. He thinks he is the absolute and flaunts his money like a cocky prick in many places here in wpg. Being from Winnipeg, let me be the first to tell you, we do not want Kane. Since the thrashers relocated I have wanted this guy gone. As far as the asking price, I don't care what issues he has(he has many), Chevaldayoff is a strong believer in the jets core. Take a look for yourself at what he has done. Virtually nothing of value. A few waiver pickups and minor trades. Kane is having season ending surgery. The jets players, management and fans would all like to see this guy gone tomorrow, but give your head a shake if you think your getting him for any less the Moulson and a 2nd. I am not saying we should pay that, but a scoring winger is what it will take to get him, and the sabres are in no way shape or form able to pay that. Even if he pulls a Seguin, which he very well could, I still don't want him.

Just because Buffalo has ahl players doesn't mean every other team does. I think the NHL can handle 2 more teams

I think that's fair market value for him. Especially when you consider the goalies who have cleared waivers this year. That being said, definitely a smart move by Darcy. Going to the Desert to finish what he started here?

That entire article is trash. A compliance buyout is 2/3 not 1/3 of the remainder of the contract, and the used Colorado as an example for our rebuild. I don't read THN, if that's the top writer, then I'm making a great decision.

Younger player on the team. My observations of him are he's a beast on the fore check and wins a majority of the battles he's involved in. Would be a great character guy to have in the dressing room, next to McDavid! I think he finds solace in the fact that most of the time he's right. :o

I don't feel sorry for Hall or Eberle. They feel sorry enough for themselves. I think that they play like their pouting, refusing to buy into anything, any coach is selling. As far as Perron goes, Edmonton ships a good player that in my opinion, never really fit in with Edmonton, for a 1st round pick in a deep draft year(with lots of solid defensive prospects) and a depth forward. Considering the market has been quiet and he apparently asked for a trade, they made out alright in my mind.

I couldn't agree more. Although I am surprised this roster won 5 games. Would Strome or Hanifin help us a lot? Yeah! Do we need Eichel or McDavid? Nope, we will be fine without them. Players with expiring contracts with a decent chance to be shipped are Stafford, Stewart, mezaros and either Neuvirth or Enroth. All of whom I would ship in a heartbeat for fair market value. All of whom would impact our ability to win games if they were moved. We ARE a threat to select first overall in this draft, IMO were the biggest threat to do so. That's with our current roster, once we move some guys, which we will, that pick is ours!
