Decisions like this make it hard to support either Bylsma or TM. Tim said he was drafting a center not a rw when he took Samson at 2.

If for no other reason than his involvement in bringing Molginy to the NHL. Where he lands is debatable.

Ohio sucks

I put Turgeon ahead of Hawerchuk. Ducky was a transient player. As was PLF.

I hope Jack is watching what Matthews is doing. Eyes on the prize Jack.
-
Nylander with another one after a great rush by Matthew's. I hope Alex is as good because this kid is good.

Ramsay Miller Vanek And as a wild card, not based on merit or numbers, Brian Spencer.

Yeah it does. And they have similar types of players sans Lidstrom.

Getting their German on.

Stick with me Swamp, I'll learn ya :P To plays an entertaining aggressive style. Not physically aggressive but they contest everything and have the wheels to do so. It's fun to watch.

Good to hear he is not hanging his head after being sent down. He'll be back up soon.

Matthew's to Nylander. Beauty.

Sabres dont have Jack... help or hurt long term
3putt replied to North Buffalo's topic in The Aud Club
I disagree on both counts. If we don't rightbthe ship, a high pick will help sooner than later. Nylander could be on the big club by the All Star break. We have the guys you want in Fasching Baptiste Carrier and Bailey. I would rather have any of those guys playing ahead of Dlo or Grant or hell Ennis. They can get better. Will they? Nobody knows for sure, but the others ceilings are apparent. But to do that you have to be willing to ride the rollercoaster. They will make mistakes and they can't be afraid to do so. In the end I think their upside is worth it.- 14 replies

My point is I think we have good assets in Fasching and Baptiste. Put them together with Samson. Now you have the ability to generate chances. Instead of Sam on the wing. Could we use more? Sure, everyone can. But until we are ready to except mistakes of inexperience, we won't maximize our offensive potential. Add back Jack and Kane and this is a stronger lineup. Add Nylander it gets stronger. And we will have a pick in the first and multiples thereafter this year. Jack is an elite player who can single handedly change an outcome. Sam makes those around them better. Use them in those roles and we really a better team. Unfortunately that implicates the person responsible for usage.- 14 replies

I replied in the other thread. Well more talent is always better than less talent. But I think Jack is a difference maker. Him being out exposes the fact that we do not have the top line depth to ice 2 legit scoring lines. At the end of last year, when ROR was hurt, he and Sam stepped up and lead this team. I think Nylander will a similar asset. The more weapons the better. But it also requires that those weapons are used properly. Where I see a potential issue, is trying to make creative skilled players conform to a system instead of creating a system to get the most of creative skilled players. When Jack and Kane get back, we will have balance across the top 9. Right now, we have our 3 best offensive players on the same line. Distribution of those weapons makes the team better and an unlikely lottery winner. Jmho. I would add that the thing that impresses me the most about the Leafs under Babcock right now, is that he is not handcuffing his young skill guys. He knows that they are bad defensively and their only chance of winning is through outpacing the opponent on the offensive end. His system of quick short passes, cycling and shooting as a pass are allowing the young guys to develop their offensive talent in the bigs while being patient about developing the other side. He is playing the long game, and is as much fun to watch as Jack and Sam late last year.- 14 replies

See Flagg they're out there watch your back.

They were not a bubble team last year. You and others projected your desire for them to be a bubble team this year onto them. Your and others disappointment is based on those projections. The team finished outside looking in, added 2 and lost 2 before the season started. Get Eichel and Kane back and they will be better. We will know if they are a bubble team at the end of the season.

Loser. 1265. Should bet the opponent from here on out. I'll bust be Thanksgiving but we should at least be 2nd in the division by then. :P

As a member of the industry I can attest that the chicken in fact is not beheaded.

And two of our top 5 scorers injured. But yeah we're Edmonton. The bright side is we will win the lottery 4 out of the next 6 years so we got that going for us. Which is nice.

Whoa big fella, you don't want to go there. Trust me. First rounders all flop after the first two. You'll learn. :flirt:

Nope just other teams. The Sabres are expected to be perfect in every way every time. All draft picks are expected to immediately contribute or they are busts. They should be fully developed NHL players or should be packaged for some other teams aging or under performing players. And of course we don't need to use accumulated first round picks on players and rather trade them away because those picks are overrated. The really good NHL ready prospects are found in the 2nd and third rounds. The bar is high for young players but hey the fans want results yesterday and they should know that. :flirt:

But they will think they are good trade their first and end up winning the lottery. God I wish Kane was healthy to trade. This team is a mirage
