No thanks...pass

We don't need to add anyone. Rudy, Martin or whoever else we have can be the 8th man, but for the sake of all things holy No Rozival

He is a nice player (I like him alot) but as u put it he is totally replaceable anyone could play with towes (spelling?) or Kaneagain I would have loved to draft him, but not trade for and then sign him. with the exception of Vasey no big free agent signings please!!!! He is a little better than McGinn who I love, but not for $3-4 million They are great for around $2 million total team players that make cup teams win, but again u need to draft them or get them on the cheap! I would argue McGinn is better. Shaw was the beneficiary of riding a lot of coat tails. Mtl doesn't have the same supporting cast.

Murray said in an interview that LA was the model not Chicago. Rounds 1 and 2 were Chicago like picks but Pu seems like a Pearson Toffoli type. Very interesting.

Offer Sheet Bob Murray and Chuck Fletcher into the ECHL! :flirt:

Wookie, Rosival needs a walker and a flashing light on the back of his helmet. He is destined for a post hockey career as traffic pylon. Hes toast and not worth even considering.

I thought euros were 4 years, depending on the NHL agreement with their leagues.

I think you have to put him above Cornel and Borgen. He may slide into Pysyks spot.
-
Even if he was leaning to Buffalo, it is a catch 22. Sign and risk being trumped by another signing, or for the Sabres make a move to get better and risk losing Vesey. I think the Sabres will act as if they aren't signing him and proceed accordingly, at least I hope.

This is illustrative of the conundrum of Stamkos. If you think he is the piece that makes you a cup favorite the price is irrelevant because you don't need the money elsewhere. If one thinks we need more than one piece you spend your money elsewhere. All the other arguments like fit, core, position become less germane. It really becomes yes or no. Yes we pay what it takes and get him and enjoy the ride or no he isn't the codec that solves the puzzle. I have not convinced myself that we are one piece away yet, but I Think the arguments that acquiring him would change our trajectory immediately are sound and intriguing. Red pill or blue pill.

So I was thinking if there was any reason to not wait until August 15 if I were him. There are none and several good ones that support his decision. The biggest is that he gets to see where he stands after the dust settles following the open frenzy of UFA. Teams will deal, players move and new opportunities will appear. If a shortlist team makes a move that he perceives to limit his opportunity, he moves to the next on his list. If the Sabres sign Stamkos he may not see a role for him here, or her may see agreed opportunity to win soon. Same for Detroit, TO or any other team in the Stamkos derby. Okposo, Boedker and others are on the move. Me has seen the draft and will be able to see where he might fit. I can't see him making a quick decision and I hope the Sabres act as if he doesn't want to sign so they take all opportunities that present themselves under advisement.

I think if he was staying in Tampa we wouldn't be having this discussion. While he may forego the dollars, I would flip TB with NYI. I also think Blashill is a lot like Cooper. TO is still my favorite. As hard as that is to type.

I didn't see a pressing need for late round d either. But having a bunch of goalies at different stages of development seems prudent if for no other reason than they are so hard to project. Strength in numbers. I am not complaining just thought taking one would have been a reasonable investment.
-
I think Stamkos is looking for payday and he has earned it. But I think his experience with Cooper is coloring his decision a bit. With that in mind I am sure he will be on the horn to Crosby and Tavares to get their input on Bylsma and Capuano respectively. He knows Babcock from Hockey Canada ( I think). If we are looking for a dark horse in this race I think it's the Isles. I would say Toronto is the front runner.

No picks used on goalies this year. With all those picks I thought they would take a chance on someone, even if it was a down draft for goalies.

Nice analysis. Thanks for the post. Your last sentence is a great summary.

Does it matter if there are no c prospects when you have 9 on the big club? -
I'm with True, offer sheet Lindholm or Someone else.

Greenway went one after and I like his upside.

This draft will be the measuring stick for Murray and co. They had a board that differed significantly from a lot of mainstream pundits and sites. They must feel really comfortable with the d pipeline in place. Time will tell.

We drafted poo?
-
Another way to look at it is this is their instinctive way of playing. That instinct doesn't go away and they adapt.

Ok you jogged my memory of the WJC. I like the restocking of the shelves.

Excite me....where does he fit? Ceiling?
