  1. Good point. So if the Cubs win this year, what does this all mean? Luck? Life's events are largely scripted by someone or a group of people? Some kind of cosmic or divine power that influenced the writer(s) in the 1980s and are making it happen in 2015 as predicted?
  2. Over Miami though, so not sure whether to call it a good prediction or not. Also, all 4 road teams have won so far. This is shaping up to be an exciting baseball playoffs.
  3. Ok, maybe we need to come up with a lack of goals song?
  4. I thought the days of being out shot 2-1 were over?
  5. Time for our (supposedly) vaunted O to do something please?
  6. Congrats to the Rangers. Price continues his playoff winless streak.
  7. It's a standard chant that's used in many sports venues. Wasn't intending to demean the traditional Sabres one(s). I also dug up an old (12/31/05) thread from here where it's apparently a very sensitive topic. So in the spirit of One Buffalo, I have stepped in line now! Thread is quite entertaining. Several familiar names: http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/794-lets-go-sabres/
  8. :w00t: Didn't even notice. The third t is obviously added for how terrible they'll play tonight.
  9. Best time of year for sports: NFL, college football, MLB playoffs, NHL starts, NBA and NCAA basketball regular seasons starting soon as well.
  10. Let's Go Sabres! (clap. clap. clap, clap, clap.) Let's Go Sabres! (clap. clap. clap, clap, clap.) What a long, strange, depressing, stressful trip it's been. It's finally time to move ahead and strive for the ultimate goal. Here's to hoping we look back on this day as the start of something very special!
  11. Agreed about the show. One of my favorite on TV. As a big Daily Show fan, I knew he'd be awesome on HBO. Agree with your points on America as well. Now that I think about it, just about everything that Oliver covers on his show every week has been happening for a long time, but has been largely ignored by the public. None of this stuff is going to just go away. I understand what you're saying about the "long game" here, and I hope it's true, but another challenge is turning that rhetoric into action. Conservatives will want a better mental health system to deflect from guns, but it's just lip service. They have no plans for it and the action never occurs to back up their statements. They keep saying we need better a mental health system until the story fades away, then do nothing, then the next incident occurs, and they're back out there saying we need a better mental health system. Oliver pointed to Mike Huckabee as a prime example of this in comparing Huckabee's actions as governor with his current rhetoric on mental health care to deter gun violence.
  12. Prisons are a large piece of mental health care in America, oh and cops aren't properly trained to deal with mental health issues :wallbash: The one-way greyhound ticket was an interesting technique for dealing with people with mental health issues as well :censored:
  13. I thought the same as X, but the clarification leaves no doubt. Thanks for the behind the scenes information!
  14. Yeah, after reading eleven's teaser I had way higher hopes than that. :( Especially since we still have 2 kickers! And somehow we managed to downgrade our 2 kicker situation imo
  15. Hmm, based on the clues I have a pretty good guess who this "certain Lightning goaltender" is
  16. Agreed, but I've heard crickets since. Also why despite the Torres suspension, I'm still in wait and see mode on NHL punishments being handed down fairly. He plays for Toronto afterall  And he seems to have injured Guhle pretty badly, which is disappointing because Guhle was having a great camp as a rookie picked in the 2nd round.
  17. Oh, I agree, but Arrieta is 3-1 with a 0.75 ERA vs the Pirates as well this year. I just think that Cole has less margin for error because Arrieta may not give anything up. And sorry to make the Whiskey Bottle sad, but if the Orioles had the current Arrieta they'd be very dangerous. He definitely figured things out after the Cubs got him.
  18. Yeah, I guess I should be thankful. Texas has had it rough. It's horrible enough for the rest of the country to see it, I couldn't imagine living through that as a resident of Texas.
