The best part of drafting Savoie was to make it impossible not to draft Benson after watching any ICE games. Savoie could still have a great NHL career, particularly if he spends any time on McDavid or Draisaitl’s wing.

If you’re a Jackets fan, anything less than +15 shot and +3 goal differential feels like a loss, doesn’t it? And gotta keep the Amerks under 3 goals.

Helenius with a very long, very good shift. Needs a couple more pounds to stay on his feet. And then, Östlund... that was pretty. Add Kulich, R Johnson, maybe Levi in net. Maybe Rousek if he clears waivers. The Amerks could be quite solid this season.

It's true. All of it. They've teased long enough that now Detroit and Ottawa have the sexier perception. The broad media is they're back to battling for 7th in the division, with possible reaching up to 5th. But gone are the days of "they're the next team to make the jump".
