I agree, good things have to happen. This includes a few winning streaks and hot streaks in net. Likewise, a few bad things need to be tampered down. Eight game losing streak cannot happen. This offensive juggernaut we have needs to be able to transition to team defense when the puck is in our zone too.

I assume it’s just an inquiry. The Sabres have a lot of offensive capability. The fix is on keeping the puck out of our net.

This event and Babcock making Marner call out teammates when he was in a junior role is not coincidence to me. It seems Babcock tries to get people to do less than normal things. Either he is detached from reality or it's his way of imposing authority. Sort of a "no matter what, you will do as I say." Then again, I am not in the room, and I do not know the guy.

If a boss wants to get to know a more personal side of an employee they can arrange events that promote it or learn over time as the relationship develops. In all my years of being in different leadership and subordinate roles I have never encountered this and never heard it be promoted as a leadership tool. There’s a difference between a picture on a desk that is already physically accessible in the workplace and asking to gain access while holding a position of authority. The perceived position of authority to gain access to something one does not possess is a form of social engineering.

Yep. Babs needs therapy or something.

According to what I read, Babcock asked players to share photos off their phone to get to know them better. Absolutely weird.

When I first saw it I thought they were Xs and was confused. Then I saw a closer look and think it’s cool.

A very recent example would be AI as part of the fourth industrial revolution. What seems to be a prominent concern is AI reducing the job market and yes, a Terminator scenario. I think it is way more likely AI effects jobs than birthing Skynet. I sympathize with the concern over AI and the job market. If you are a programmer in your 20s you might want to diversify your IT skill set IMO. On the other hand, I think AI will lead to an increase in other IT jobs such as Net Admin, help desk, engineer, Sys Admin. AI should provide incentive for people to get an advanced education. This doesn’t have to be an overly expensive process. You can watch a YouTube series and pass a Sec+ A+, Net+. While it still remains a human position, programming is a good skill to have. There are free sites that will teach you Python as well. I think AI can/will have a positive impact on society. People need to be willing to pursue those fields though which in part means having an aptitude.

Very beginning he talks about playing their game. This is simple but good advice for a young team. Don’t worry about where other teams are in the standings, focus on the next game.

Agreed. Aside from splitting up line 1, Cozens, and JJP this is the likely outcome.

I can see this being the opening night roster.

Some people bring up a good point about aliens being able to or having to travel many light years to Earth. All I can say is that any issue about the time it would take is based on our understanding of physics and the nature of the universe. We humans might be missing some knowledge. After all, flat Earthers are a thing.

I agree. I get wanting to remain competitive but at some point you have to read the writing on the wall. Their stars are getting older. -
I want to say Jost or Krebs.

OT: Employment Interviews in the post covid 2020's

I waited until later in life to go to school. It wasn’t so much a deliberate decision but one I think has worked out. Along the way I received a lot of real world experience but appreciate what a formal education brings to the table. The benefit for me is I chose a degree program specific to the field I want to be in. The decision to be in that field goes back to life experience. The reason I am glad I waited is I am more certain than I was at 18. Switching programs and kind of guessing at growth and marketability is not as much of a concern. That and while I was waiting to go to school I achieved a military pension and access to the GI Bill. -

Russian Invasion of Ukraine

Both are NATO countries. I can’t see how they would take a bridge between the two without going into either.
