I think Östlund at 3C provides more offensive potential. I would put Greenway in for Dunne on the fourth line but whatever.

OP is the UPL of defensemen. Given a deal he didn’t deserve in hopes he would become something he is not. We have had enough time to see what both players bring to the team and it’s simply not good enough. IMO it’s beneficial for all parties to move on. But we won’t.

This team is so bad in OT. How does nobody have enough attention to see three Sabres on one side and only two CBJ players on that side? It’s simple math. 3-2=1 player left uncovered.

I dunno. Maybe give him lighter minutes to help ease back into play.

That’s not the question. Nobody should need more looks at UPL to see what he can do when he’s already played a number of years here. We already know what he is capable of and yesterday was it.

So if the idea is UPL looks no different then why would anyone say he needs more looks? We already have multiple seasons worth.

The way this team bounced back after starting 0-3 it would be a slap in their faces to continue with UPL. Their hard work and good play got them into a playoff spot and the chance to sweep a back-to-back against a rival. Send a message that mediocrity will not be tolerated.

KA and Ruff will BS the fanbase with how UPL needs a few games post injury. They’ll sacrifice what the rest of the team has built after adversity for trying to “protect” a player. All it does is send a message that mediocrity is ok and can possibly screw up this team’s confidence. If I was Ruff I would tell the press we need more from our goaltending in these types of games. Screw UPL’s confidence because he has pissed away the opportunity given to him here with sub .900 play.

This game reminds me of when Wolf “The Dentist” Stansson told Gunnar Stahl, “you lost it for me.”

Ya. This can’t continue. If Ruff continues playing UPL then he needs to go.

Everytime, and I mean everytime OP goes in deep he stops down by the opposing goal line and just watches. He has no concept of getting back into his position. UPL is not the starter this team needs regardless of coming back from an injury.
