I think I might have the wrong idea on lines so correct me where needed. Line 1 is your best offensive threat. Average defensively. Line 2 is you second offensive threat with the ability to defend longer stints in the D Zone. Line 3 is who you put against the other team’s first line. Defensively minded with some offensive ability. Line 4 plays against the other team’s fourth line. Little offensive threat and average defensively. The more I think about it you want at least three lines who can score and everyone playing a two way game. I remember the chances of a fight came when those fourth liners were playing their five minutes of ice time per game.

Put Smith in for Sobotka and we can talk. Maybe Nylander or Olof for Pommers.

Agree on all. I’m not sure what the plan is with Beaulieu. If they wanted to showcase I’d think he’d play more. I say trade him and Scandella but keep McCabe. I like how he drills guys ever now and then.

I really think Beaulieu. Hasn’t played much so maybe they are shopping him and avoiding injury.

Anyone getting publically called out for bringing it into the discussion? It happened a couple GDTs ago. Maybe I missed it.

I really wonder if a verbal commitment was made to stay in Buffalo for the long haul but management is waiting to see how many goals he has before assigning a dollar amount. Like I said in the contract thread, maybe 8 mil for 40 goals and 8.5 for 45 goals. Who knows though.

Maybe in five years we can trade Eichel and sign Matthews.?

Not Ullmark’s fault they couldn’t score. Ullmark has a winning record. Hutton does not. Hutton let in four against Columbus to Ulmark’s one in Dallas. I don’t get Phil’s problem. To get the win Ullmark would’ve had to get his third shutout. How many does Hutton have and compare who has had more opportunities (games played).

Someone should tell him performance in the CBJ win was not as good as the performance in the Dallas loss.

I don’t know if this a deadline tryout. Although they have been testing the fan’s patience, they are not mathematically elininated yet. We also put Ellie on waivers and I think Larry is still hurt. Either way Phil needs to ice the best team possible and CJ has some experience over the other prospects. I think his callup is normal. Trying to use him as trade bait defeats what JBott wants to do, develop through the system and not sacrifice future the now. But I could be wrong.
