  1. 45 years as a Buffalo Sports fan when old enough to remember.. Two games does not a season make. (i.e. 5-1 Bills in 2008) We were 2-0 last year also. Slow down people and let's not get ahead of ourselves.
  2. Yous guys should just leave him alone. It aint that big a deal what he seen.
  3. As much as this may be true for this year, I don't think we are ready to win a cup with our youth down the middle. Development is key for our future. Ellis, McCormick and Gerbe aren't.
  4. My wife accuses me of being hard of hearing on occasion, yet I have to ask if I'm the only one who finds the PA system WAY too loud at the FNC? And yes, how can production crews place cameras where standing fans obstruct the view? We see it in other rinks also.
  5. We know he is superior at JR and as long as they can keep his confidence up I think the NHL would be better for his development. Like you I think contracts may play a factor, and I'm not saying that's wrong.
  6. Sorry, I still think it is a labor dispute. Why should the scale of pay matter. Both sides are about what they think they deserve or is right for them to do business. The auto worker cares about himself. The player cares about himself. Management is the same. The players were about their working conditions. That was some of the concessions made my mgt. Single rooms on the road was one concession. This feeds into the class warfae we see being exploited in politics and elections. They have money and don't deserve it! Yes it's a game and we all think we would be thrilled to play it for pay. However, until you walk a mile in their shoes, you have no idea how you would feel. I don't want to argue this. I'm glad it's over and I have hockey. Although, I must say I'm not sorry about the $2,000 I saved on my season ticket package. I'm selfish too and I admit it. Go Sabres!!!
  7. I never blamed either side a lot. This was a labor dispute, just like any other lockout or strike. For some reason the dollars involved made us view this differently, then say an auto workers strike. When plants shut down during a labor dispute, it effects others just like this did. Restaurants and bar owners in the area are affected. Transportation and all other types of vendors who supply the plants are hurt also. People go back and buy cars after the strike, just like we go back to hockey. Both sides feel the're right.
  8. Happened right in front of where we sit, and watching it live I would agree with you. Its hard to be ojective since many have so much hate for him.----- I wish he was a sabre!
  9. Not into nuances of the board, and I apoligize if I interpreted this wrong; but, if this was meant to be a slight of Sekera, no I didn't think he sucked. I thought Leopold and Regher sucked. Sakera is a top four defenseman who spends a lot of time paired with guys who suck He spent a lot of time burdoned with Rivet also. Someone thinks he can play.
  10. Got home from game a little while ago. A win, and a lot to be happy about. I wasn't real impressed by Leopold or Regehr. Did either of these guys play in Europe? Regehr is beggining to remind me a little bit of Craig Rivet. He is beginning to look like he has trouble skating at the NHL level, and the problem did show up at times last year. Still a lot to be excited about!
  11. This sounds like a physics question. Where's iknowphysics?
  12. Fun to think about this kind of thing. Roy had a lot of PK time, so that would have to be considered in your projections. Also, they both can't get all of those additional minutes unless they played on the same line!
  13. Agreed! We all want them to win. Let's hope they do.
  14. Great! We have been small and soft for too long! You like Gerbe, I don't see him as a part of a cup winner. Agree to disagree. Hope we win Sunday.
  15. Not at all, you can have A small player with skill; who on TB is 5"4" along with a small St who? Don't bother replying, because there is no one. The rest of the team is comprised of players bigger than the pee wee level. I like Gerbe, he just doesn't belong on an NHL roster that is supposed to compete for the cup.
  16. I would say a lot of DR's drafts mistakes come from the fact that until about 3 years ago he faliled to realize that the league morphed to a big man's leageue about 6 years ago. Better late than never, but if Gerbe sees the ice this year when healthy, it will prove he is still incompetant and out of touch with today's NHL.
  17. Lovie Lee Smith, has what I would consider a comprable record to our coach and GM during his time in Chicago. If your not a Bills fan, you accept the fact that football is a real sport, unlike hockey which can't compete with poker on ESPN. (Shame on me since I have owned season ticks for 31 years, but I love it!) Pegs is beginning to scare me..
  18. Yes he did and I hope Ennis can do the same this year.
  19. Having watched all of last years playoffs and the impeding that went on, it's hard to believe Gerbe has a place on a serious cup contender. Love his grit, but rules and physics are against him. Then again, we are still a year of development away from an extended playoff run.
