  1. It's still insane that the Nationals completely robbed the Padres for him. He was a Player to be Named Later in that deal ... Go Nats.
  2. Definitely slipped up there but that was actually the last time he scored under double digits
  3. Indeed. That’s why I said he has the ability and not that he IS. I like that you didn’t mention Griffey somehow lol The future of that game is bright. Because of the structure of how young players get attention now the culture is going to make it even bigger in a few years even though the greatest player ever will be retiring.
  4. This offseason will be very interesting in the NBA because the league is wide open. On Trout: he still stands as the best player but if this year is a sign of things to come from Ohtani he'll dwarf Trout. Being a .280 hitter on a 60-home run, 140-RBI pace AND a sub-2.50 hitter is unheard of. Things normally fall back down to earth as the year climbs on and will likely do the same next year/beyond as more teams get film on him BUT if he even ends up as a .280 hitter with 40 home runs and a sub-3.00 pitcher that's unmatched.
  5. Shoutout Rob Manfred for that. Ohtani legitimately has the ability to be the best baseball player in nearly 100 years.
  6. When they first came up their word was near gospel. Really high quality stuff. Once they got pro contracts (they work with NBC or at least did for multiple years including last year) they started getting biased and it has changed everyone’s view of them.
  7. I have such little interest in these finals. I don’t believe Montreal is a finals-quality team and believe Tampa will continue to slice through them with ease. I want Montreal to win but if game one is any sign I’d rather just see a sweep to get the off-season started.
  8. NBA playoff ratings are way up this year and there’s been a ton of good basketball played. This era is so stacked talent-wise I’m glad to see the super teams gone (aside from Brooklyn). Incredible how bad baseball is at showcasing its players. I get that they haven’t found team success but the best player in baseball and the most unique player in baseball are both on the same team and the Angels are still nowhere to be found.
  9. Levy and Buccigross are both very bad at play by play. Great hockey minds but not the voice.
  10. You’re confusing Pro Football Focus and Pro Football Talk. Both are trash, though. Sean Payton is another that’s vastly overrated. One title with a top 15 QB of all time.
  11. But Tremaine Edmunds is really bad.
  12. I actually agree. But when current behavior doesn’t live up to 2021 standards you have to consider the pattern.
  13. That’s a flat out lie but predictable from you. We’re years beyond a time where people could defend the use of the term “gay” as an insult. Move on. It’s not a good look.
  14. He’s not of legal age to drink in Ontario therefore he has obviously never had a drink because that’s against the law.
  15. Do it!
  16. He also later tweeted about getting medicine to feel better which is a slap in the face of god’s will, according to him.
  17. Sounds like a BBB scam.
  18. It was probably the part where he turned the celebratory champagne into water so he could legally drink it.
  19. And that’s the most mild way to put how ***** stupid he has been on Twitter about this. Threatened to retire. Then a history of homophobic tweets got dug up. I hope he tears both his ACLs celebrating a super bowl victory.
  20. I think I missed this but could you imagine …
  21. If he’s 60-70% (let’s split the difference and say 65%) it’s still pretty clear. The next prospect is probably somewhere between 10-20% and so on. Couple that with reports from Dreger and I believe LeBrun (or one other good reporter, Friedman?) that the belief is Buffalo is already locked in on Power and I think you have a recipe for poster confidence that Power will be the first pick. It’s not hype. It’s connecting the dots.
  22. I hope they’re making teams give them two version of their offers: futures and now. I’m sure some offers are a mixture of the two but it’s important to make sure we don’t just get futures in both/all deals. What’s the book on Matt Roy from LA? He’s a 26 year old right hand dman but I’m not really familiar with his game. That’s something we should be speaking but I’m not sure if he’s the one. If he is, something like him, Vilardi and a pick (ideally 9th overall) for the pair.
  23. Pairing Risto and Reinhart makes more sense than Eichel and Risto, as well. If that were accurate I wouldn’t be mad about it. I think Eichel has plenty of suitors (so does Reinhart but hearing someone wants Risto tickles me).
  24. The narrative that Vegas had everything handed to them is letting the league off the hook when we should not. They worked over teams and made great deals. Then they made continuous moves to build what is now not just a ragtag group of players but a very talented group. Nobody handed them Mark Stone. Seattle gets the same expansion rules. We’ll see if anyone learned their lesson.
  25. Nets won in 74 and 76 when they were the New York Nets as well but in the ABA.
