  1. There was a point very early in the process where I said I was very high on him as a forward. Largely the eye test against men. But I also noted that he seems to take advantage of the bigger ice a lot which I wonder about when it comes to transitioning to the NHL.
  2. Eklund is the shiny new toy. Everyone got bored of Power because he’s the obvious answer and has been for a while. Power will be the pick.
  3. The trade freeze runs from the 17th (next Saturday) to the 22nd (the following Thursday - day before the NHL draft).
  4. I mean it’s a top ten so it’s not like this is indicative of an opinion holding him much lower than ten. He ranked higher than all other linebackers in the league except for seven.
  5. We’ve also seen Dreger say he doesn’t believe the Ducks are as in as they’re reported to be. I think you’re demanding something too specific. If you hear several teams aren’t willing to go where the Sabres need them to go and/or aren’t as interested then that’s a reflection that the general interest either wasn’t as high as reported or is going down. I’m not saying this is all the truth of what’s going on vs teams using the media to negotiate but more just saying what you’re saying isn’t there is definitely there in these reports.
  6. We have heard several reports of teams’ interest cooling and insiders have backed off multiple times. Some going from saying a trade was days away to a month+ away “if it happens.” EDIT: freeman, a poster who I have a deep history of agreeing with, provided some evidence of this already which you responded to. I think there’s been some backing off that’s a bit deeper than those posts and comes down to a shift in tone.
  7. Jack says he wants to play for the Bruins “now or later in my career.”
  8. Once you hit the button in the top right and say you don’t want to see tweets like that enough times they’ll stop showing up or become very rare.
  9. If you choose who you follow and order your timeline to be chronological you aren’t exposed to the algorithm essentially. I get the tweets from the people I follow in order. The only time I’m exposed to other tweets is if someone I follow chooses to retweet a tweet or I use the search function.
  10. I’ve watched it and it doesn’t feel like it really applies to Twitter, honestly. You do have more control as long as you know how to use the platform.
  11. Very few sources out there view Eklund as a top two/three prospect. The hype around Eklund here has taken a big leap forward since the reports came out that the team loves him. He’s been well liked here for a while but it’s certainly taken a step forward.
  12. I think the insiders have blown this out of proportion. I do believe the end of season pressers have reasonably put this into defcon one because both sides refused to commit to each other and the GM won’t even acknowledge Jack by name but it feels like a lot of gamesmanship. I DO think Jack Eichel is a complete asshat who I don’t want leading my team but his talent is supreme here. I think he’s acting like this because he realizes a few things: this franchise is and has been putrid, the GM has zero experience and the head coach has zero head coaching experience. He seems to be bullying an experienced group as a 24 year old.
  13. This is a trend that developed in the last week or so but I’m feeling pretty strongly that he’s not getting traded this offseason.
  14. Trades aren’t allowed on expansion draft day unless you mean he’s dealt in an expansion deal prior to the deadline. There’s a trade freeze in place on expansion draft day.
  15. Dave Pagnotta has been the most consistently incorrect reporter I know, for the record. The only thing I’ve ever seen him hit on was Tavares to the Leafs (he was first).
  16. I have zero interest in bringing Marner onto a team with zero talent around him. It’s not a setting I believe he can strive in.
  17. If you get three and want Eklund you take him at three. I am very confident Seattle isn’t touching him at 2.
  18. Every Leafs fan is so convinced they're going to trade Marner for Eichel straight up and it makes me want to light myself on fire. I have ZERO interest in that deal and there's no way Adams wants it either.
  19. If you think analytics are actually a primary focus for a team that signed Cody Ceci (who, to be fair, appears to have revived his career in Pittsburgh), Zach Bogosian, Joe Thornton, Wayne Simmonds and traded a first for Nick Foligno then there's some more research to be done. Speaking of more research, here's an article that gets into Krueger's influence: https://www.buffalohockeybeat.com/sabres-signings-show-ralph-kruegers-growing-influence-under-kevyn-adams You should need no further evidence as the man himself in those quotes above talked about what he was part of building and the connections he had to players who were brought in. There's also a bit in the article about Krueger saying Adams has been very inclusive in the decision-making process, indicating he was involved.
  20. All 52 goals?
  21. Knocked it out of the park here. There’s nothing wrong with what Kucherov said. The league needs WAY more of that type of stuff. It makes it more exciting not only for the heavy fans but also did the casuals and those trying to break into the sport.
  22. I want to shoot this mindset to the moon. We don’t deserve a cup more just because we own an ice scraper and our nipples are hard and dry five months out of the year.
  23. https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/31765336/ranking-nfl-top-10-linebackers-2021-execs-coaches-players-make-their-picks NFL Execs rank the current linebackers in the league. Tremaine Edmunds come in at number 8 overall. At least one executive had him as the best linebacker in the league. At least one had him out of the top 10. From the article: Tremaine Edmunds, Buffalo Bills Highest ranking: 1 | Lowest ranking: Unranked Age: 23 | Last year's ranking: 7 Edmunds' potential is so expansive that this ranking feels too low. He is 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, with incredible downhill ability and range. "This guy is tough -- very rangy against the pass, good instincts," an NFC coach said. "Tough for us to deal with." Man coverage is not his strength, but Edmunds can use that 4.5-second 40-yard dash speed to diagnose short passes and wash them out. Edmunds covered 4,359 yards when traveling above 12 mph, per Next Gen Stats, the highest total of the group. And at age 23, Edmunds is still ascending. "In zone defense where he can come downhill, he's really good," the coach said.
