Trade Suggestion: Johansen Traded to Preds for Seth Jones
Hoss replied to wjag's topic in The Aud Club
He's a "concept?" Averaged 30-33-63 in his age 21 and 22 seasons. On pace for nearly 60 points this season despite being a fatass. Let's at least be fair. -
My new year's resolution, like everybody else's, is to lose weight... It must not be going so well because my shorts are suddenly much tighter on me.

All Star Captains: Fans vote Alex Ovechkin, Jaromir Jagr, John Scott and Patrick Kane All-Star captains. Jagr is expected to skip.

Trade Suggestion: Johansen Traded to Preds for Seth Jones

Johansen has played a bunch of RW and could instantly be our first-line RW. He's got one more year and then will be an RFA so we still control him. He's due for a hefty raise regardless of what Torts says. That said, I'm fine with arguments against getting him. He's been one of my favorite players since he burst onto the scene, but I don't know how often you can be at the top of the league relying heavily on a guy who consistently comes to work out of shape. That worries me. This team is in desperate need of good wingers (on both sides because Kane is our only "true" top-six LW and who knows where his case goes). Reinhart is our only solid RW but we do have prospects (Bailey, Baptiste, Fasching) who are somewhat close to getting shots in the NHL. McGinn, I hope, is here to stay. He's been playing maybe his best hockey of his career so far here and really fits with O'Reilly. Girgensons is going to have to bounce one way or the other soon and I'm not longer interested in even having Ennis around. -

It'll take more than that, even though our first rounder is suddenly becoming very valuable. This is a trade I would wait until the offseason to consider. If we get beyond the lottery and end up with pick three or four I might call up Columbus to talk about it. -
If this franchise wants to make a killing on jerseys they will go back to the royals (everybody will buy one) and then wear the black and reds for an outdoor game.

Shia is the best

Not a bad move at all. A lot of people found Alabama Shakes like that among others.
-
Lighten up that blue some and make the logo bigger and you've got the jerseys this team should wear forever and ever and ever.

This was an awesome promo for today's game... Love old-time hockey video

Notice I didn't say "their logo" for Ottawa? I don't like their current logo. An actual logo would be nice. Go back to the profile view of the senator. That was much better. Sharks aren't number one for me, either, but they're up there. Rochester has a GREAT uniform history. Give me either a simple look with something that sets you apart from the rest (think San Jose's currents or throwbacks, Montreal's reds, Chicago) or complicated clean (Washington's throwbacks, Pittsburgh's throwbacks, St. Louis' currents).

"Today's music" = what you hear on the radio or see on tv. There's plenty of great music and always will be if you're willing to look. A good place to look is Pandora. If you hear a modern song you really like search for a station on pandora and just play it. You'll discover plenty. That's a very simple way to find new stuff you'll enjoy...

I'm not closing the door on his offensive talent... I just don't think he was ever going to be much more than he was last year at 20-20-40 in a full season. I don't know if people thought he was better than that, but he has certainly performed well below it. Maybe he'll struggle transitioning to a secondary role as opposed to alpha dog.
-
I won't go that far on Montreal's jerseys, but this game is a great look. Ryan Kennedy of Hockey News posted his top 50 sweaters of all time... Here's the top ten: http://www.thehockeynews.com/blog/the-top-50-jerseys-of-all-time-nos-10-1/ I agree that San Jose's throwbacks are a great look. Chicago is probably my current favorite. There's some changes on the way with Florida getting new threads and a new logo next year. Toronto is doing the same. Pittsburgh is getting a new look (the assumption is that they're going to make their current throwbacks the primary home and away). I think Ottawa should make the switch to these full time (with an actual logo instead of the 'O')

O'Reilly is 19th in points. Risto is 81st (11th among dmen). Eichel, as a rookie teenager, is on pace for 25-25-50. Eichel (4th) and Reinhart (8th) are in the top-ten rookie scorers. I think we have overrated the offensive talent of Ennis and Girgensons, though. Kane's numbers go to 23-15-48 over 82 games. That's not great and certainly not where we want him, but it's not terrible. He needs to be better and more consistent. The low scoring totals don't worry me because there's still major progress there. There's little to no secondary scoring right now. Larsson, Foligno, Gionta, Deslauriers, Moulson and Legwand have combined for 16 goals so far. That's 2.7 goals per. That's a TOTAL of 34 goals over an 82 game season among six players that make up the top six most nights. I said from the start I was just going to take this season off and only really get into rooting one way or the other if it got down to the last ten or so games and we were close to either end of the standings. I think a backwards standing would be fine with ten games to go if it's really that close. I'm just relaxing, though. I won't get heartbroken by wins late if we're near the bottom... Although I probably will get heartbroken if we're within a few points of the playoffs late and lose a close game or two (although I don't see that happening).

Pysyk confirms his injury was a broken foot
-
I'm not sure if I'm suffering for confirmation bias or just that O'Reilly is just this good. (Just kidding, it's the latter)
-
If you attended a school in that conference it makes a tiny bit of sense to root for other schools so your school gets a larger amount of cash payout from it... But that doesn't work for SEC schools. You're all rich.
-
He's currently on pace for 32-39-71 in 82 games played this year. Would be career highs in all three.
-
I'm not too confident in Clemson. What do you mean by Bama being the first good all-around team?
-
Why Clemson? This is the only place I've seen (locally) where the majority seems to be pulling for the status quo of champions in college football. I hope Clemson wins in a classic game.
-
I have heard this line of thinking and don't understand it. I get maybe afterwards celebrating the fact that an SEC team won but screaming "Roll Tide" as if you were a dedicated member of the fanbase confuses me. I went to an A10 school. I know several people who are satisfied when A10 schools make noise in the NCAA tournament... I can't get there. I will root against them just like I root against loudly.
