  1. "Stop acting tough" - Evander Kane multiple times to PK there.
  2. Remember how down on Ovechkin everybody got when he had just 32 goals in a season? Imagine if teams had said "meh, he's not that good anymore" then.
  3. Narcos board me to death halfway through the second episode. None of the characters were interesting, at all, in my opinion.
  4. The same reason you trade for any other rental: a cup run. It's that simple. Any team acquiring him will hope they can convince him, I'm sure, but they'll understand the possibility that free agency may be his goal.
  5. Why in the world do people find that girl attractive? No no no and no.
  6. Former New York State Senate candidate Gia Arnold and her 18-year-old boyfriend were arrested after a traffic stop yielded an assault rifle, military-style knives, a handgun and ski masks...
  7. Stamkos is a rental. I don't see him signing an extension at this point unless it's in Tampa Bay. He's this close to free agency and will be the biggest free agent of the salary cap era... You're not giving up two young and elite players for him unless you get desperate (which I could see Toronto doing in hopes they can convince him to stay).
  8. I believe at the time of the Johansen deal it was said Nashville was choosing between Johansen and Nugent-Hopkins while Columbus was choosing between Brodin+ and Jones. I imagine we'd have to give up Reinhart to get Brodin.
  9. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/steven-stamkos-situation-could-be-resolved-sooner-than-once-thought/ Suggests a divorce with Tampa is coming and a deadline deal is possible.
  10. Let's dream for a second: O-Reilly - Stamkos - Bailey ??? - Eichel - Girgensons Kane - Reinhart - Fasching Deslauriers - Larsson - Whoever DMan acquired - Risto McCabe - Bogosian DMan acquired - Pysyk Lehner - Ullmark The top-pairing dman would have to be acquired with some mix of Ennis or Girgensons plus picks and prospects. The bottom-pairing dman could be Weber or another free agent. The left wing for Eichel could be a draftee or a free agent.
  11. I don't generally agree with doing this unless it's towards the very beginning of the season. He'll be 27 when over half of the games have been played next season.
  12. It wasn't me that said this. It was just me that said I wouldn't be that upset by it if it went down like this. Although I don't think it's automatic, either. You wouldn't be trading him for the sake of it. You're adding risk that you may not be able to pay him down the line but you can work it out. Also, Stamkos is 26. He turned 26 like four days ago.
  13. He will turn 27 during next season meaning he will be 32 for most of his final season on the deal. I might go six years if he's willing to go down a bit on the cap.
  14. 1. Eichel, O'Reilly, Reinhart, Ristolainen. Pretty short list of players, but there's some high-end talent here to build on. 2. It's close to home. Very close to home. As close to home as he can get without playing for a Toronto team devoid of talent. 3. Ownership with the $$$$$$ Basically, what McKenzie already said.
  15. He's mentioned once in the book the orc who killed Thror. I googled this to make sure I wasn't misremembering his lack of existence in the book. Tauriel and Legolas also aren't in the books, AT ALL. This does a good job of breaking down the difference: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/12/17/the-hobbit-changes_n_6331340.html To be fair, I think the films' biggest crimes is that they are "films" and not "film."

I'm sure he'll step up just as he has already. Can't build a dam overnight.

Still not actively rooting for losses but worth noting: the Sabres will be in second to last at the end of the night. Columbus is in OT and Toronto/EDM play each other. Could end the night in sole possession of last place if Edmonton beats Toronto in overtime or SO.
  18. Bailey's first brutal play leads to a goal. Hope the kid keeps his head up.
  19. Ullmark got pulled after eight shots against Nashville.
  20. In his first six starts coming back from injury he gave up 3-2-2-2-2-2 with a .944 save percentage. Hit or miss? Unreliable? Haven't seen either yet. Two bad games. We'll see which Lehner we see more of going forward.
  21. I said this before seeing the hit, but I've seen Foligno skate away from worse hits so I still think the frustration is why he went there.
  22. He had been playing out of his mind up until these last two starts.
  23. This might be the case for me if I were to go back and re-read. Because of your horror story I will not be doing so.
  24. So is this what we are now? Play like , get behind and then goon it up?
  25. The Hobbit movie is brutal. The Hobbit book is enjoyable. I felt like the book was a jolly fantasy journey which would mesh with the main villain not slaughtering a bunch of main character dwarves, but the movies up to that point had several darker moments that changed expectations a bit. Also, the main orc in the movies doesn't even exist in the books. He seemed like he'd be a major character going forward into movie two and three... But I felt like he ended up barely mattering.
