Hmmmmmm HockeyStatMiner @HockeyStatMiner Teams that have the bonus space to offer $2.85 million in performance bonuses will have a huge leg up on Vesey. Buffalo can not offer that.

http://blackhawks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=888660&hootPostID=9a204c151cfac622c14a92f63e738088 Blackhawks agree to terms with forward Jordin Tootoo Tuesday, 07.5.2016 / 2:30 PM CT / News By Chicago Blackhawks The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have agreed to terms with forward Jordin Tootoo on a one-year contract. Tootoo, 33, has played the last two seasons with the New Jersey Devils where he scored four goals and notched five assists in 66 games during the 2015-16 campaign. Over his 12-year NHL career, Tootoo has tallied 158 points (63G, 95A) in 673 career games. The forward made his NHL debut in 2003 with Nashville where he played for eight seasons. He later skated for Detroit (2012-14). The Churchill, Manitoba native has appeared in 40 Stanley Cup Playoffs games, netting three goals and recording seven assists. Tootoo was originally selected in the fourth round (98th overall) of the 2001 NHL Draft by Nashville. Good, absolutely love this guy. Currently reading his biography.

I believe the exact minutes were 490 with Nielsen and 403 with Tavares.
-
He still had another season after next under contract. I don't think he will either but just needed a third goalie. I didn't take Luongo because his contract is brutal.

It really is. Second best Zelda in my eyes (Ocarina is 1). I actually played a ton of it and thought I was close to the end and then came back from college to see I wasn't even close but my brothers had gotten a lot of the rest of the game. I picked it up near the end and finished it off. Cool-looking final boss.

Skyward Sword was extremely long, too. Unfortunately I don't think I'll ever get to play this one.

Alright, so I did a quick expansion draft with the General Fanager expansion tool: http://www.generalfanager.com/teams/expansion Here is the roster post draft. Andrew Cogliano - Colin Wilson - Marian Gaborik Ondrej Palat - David Desharnais - Drew Stafford Matt Calvert - Joe Colborne - Cal Clutterbuck Antoine Roussel - Darren Helm - Matt Read William Carrier - Lance Bouma - Beau Bennett Marco Scandella - Kevin Klein Dmitry Orlov - Trevor Daley Jay Bouwmeester - Mark Pysyk Marc Methot - Justin Braun Ryan Miller - Jonathan Bernier - Malcolm Subban Some of these players are somewhat unlikely to be available as I'm sure their teams will find a way to protect them or move them, but it's a rough mockup just based on what teams could do. Free agency isn't impressive next season and the draft is unlikely to produce any immediate NHLers for them, so this is probably about what we'll see talent wise. That's a very competitive roster.

If it becomes clear Vesey isn't signing then there are still plenty of vet wingers for the bottom six available that can slide higher if needed (Hudler, Vrbata, Pirri, Versteeg, Spaling).

Agreed. On Enroth: it was never an option. I bet GMTM didn't even think about it for more than five seconds. He's tiny and that's not GMTM's style, especially considering small goalies are expected to be hurt even more by the equipment changes. I love Jhonas and hope he latches on somewhere, but I'm not hurt that he's not here

Vegas will get better than Nilsson in net.
-
General Fanager @generalfanager Anders Nilsson has signed with Buffalo following trade, 1 yr @ $1M.
-
This would've been the hope regardless. Zatkoff, Enroth or others don't change that.
-
What? It's a 5th-round pick... Also, he'll need a two-year deal if the Sabres plan to use him to fulfill their requirement in the expansion draft as he'd be an unrestricted free agent next offseason if it's a one-year deal.
-
Not going to be the type to push for time. This move establishes Lehner as a legitimate 60-start goalie. This isn't me complaining about the deal, I'm fine with it and didn't care too much what they did with the backup. The goaltending situation will be up to Lehner and if he goes down I think they'd bring up Ullmark if they need starts for an extended period. Nilsson is a big body who has struggled in the league.

Arthur Staple @StapeNewsday #Isles have signed PA Parenteau to a one-year, $1.25 million deal.

Revising my thoughts here and working under the assumption that Vesey isn't in our lineup because he's a free agent as far as I'm concerned. (No, I'm not drinking the negativity juice, just want to factor exclusively what we know we have) Kane - O'Reilly - Okposo Ennis - Eichel - Reinhart Foligno - Girgensons - Bailey Moulson - Larsson - Gionta Deslauriers That's how I'm feeling as it currently stands. I'm not phenomenally confident that this mixed with our decent-but-not-great defense is getting us to the playoffs. I think it's a lineup that can compete with the big chunk of teams that will be vying for the last few spots, though.

Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC FLA continuing its summer of signings...the long-rumoured Vincent Trocheck extension expected to come down soon. Sounds like 6 years.

This is where I got to today. He has a right to do what he's doing and I hope we still end up with him, but I'm just tired of thinking about it. If he goes elsewhere I'll hate him because, as a fan, I have a right to. Especially if it's Toronto/Boston.

The "community forums" part looks blocky and meh but otherwise looks fine. I liked the old font and was actually admiring it to myself the other day.

That's the new default

Kevin Paul Dupont @GlobeKPD Vesey said he expects he will make his decision promptly after 8/15 -- suspects in perhaps 2-3 days.

Drafted by GMTM when he was with Ottawa
