  1. A mass shooting in Jacksonville happened during a madden tournament. The shooter is David Katz. He is from Maryland but won the madden tournament hosted by the Bills last year at 716 Food and Sport.
  2. He was doing very well in keeping his feet moving. Just about no chance on four of the five sacks. Not sure what you were expecting but his footwork was not an issue today.
  3. This and, as freeman mention, they are no a cap team that would have to worry about moving them.
  4. I think Hunwick never plays more than ten games or so here unless there’s a ton of injuries. Sobotka should be useful for two years so there’s probably no rush there. But if they want to move him it shouldn’t be hard or expensive.
  5. Yea, I’m aware of that process but I was just wondering if outright release players. In looking it up and in memory it doesn’t seem so unless they have a contract that isn’t guaranteed.
  6. The Penguins didn’t want Hunwick and he’s not there anymore. There’s always a way. Also, do NHL rules prevent players from being outright released? Team just pays the contract and moves on? I forget.
  7. Decent chance Sobotka and Hunwick depart. Also a sort of wild moment remembering that Bogosian just turned 28 a month ago.
  8. This guy is just taking the info LaConfora put out that the Bills are one of the teams eager to pursue Mack if he shakes loose. But it’s nice to know we’re likely involved. Up front when Steve Tasker asked Brandon Beane about Mack’s holdout he laughed and said “I’ll put a call in.”
  9. Toby Enstrom signed a one-year deal with MODO in Sweden to be the captain of their squad.
  10. They didn’t qualify Wilson but signed him to a do similar to what he got in arbitration. Seems like JBots likes to avoid it in these cases and negotiate on his own.
  11. General reminder: Tyrod Taylor is not good. He’s safe and occasionally fun, a very hard worker and a really good dude. None of those make him a good QB. The team had moved on from him a full year before trading him. They got a third rounder for him (Alex Smith went for a lower third rounder and a solid defensive back). He wasn’t staying.
  12. He was not given one. Doesn’t mean a new offer wasn’t made. Decent chance it wasn’t or it was a Rochester deal.
  13. I don’t have a problem with you. I generally enjoy your posts and look forward to your statistical analysis when it comes to Hockey. I just think you’re going out of your way to give the same statistical work to Allen and simply taking the narrative/numbers at face value there. He’s not a unicorn when it comes to questionable numbers coming out of college. He compares to some guys who have really made it in this league. He also compares to guys like Gabbart, Locker and Ponder.
  14. And Incognito’s predatory behavior took advantage of that. Karma’s a bitch.
  15. You did exactly what I said you would. College offenses differ greatly from one team or level of competition to the next. But to cling to a single stat and say purely because of that nobody else is comparable isn’t actually accomplishing anything. Especially without context. If you say he had talent above his competition at all times and still failed to deliver there’s something there. Even in a bad conference I don’t think anyone is claiming that. But if you want to compare pure numbers with no context each of the names I mentioned are comparable in the way you compared. Allen had a few hundred more yards than Carson Wentz over the last two seasons of their careers in the same offense. Only played two more games. 8.4 yards per attempt for Wentz and 7.8 for Allen. Not too far off. Matt Ryan completed 59.9% of his passes which isn’t unreasonably far off from 56.2%. If you throw about 500 passes in a 16 game season that’s about a completion per game differenence. Favre’s completion percentage was 4% lower. Really better in most categories. Similar passing numbers to Kap. And so on.
  16. His numbers are comparable/similar to guys like Matt Ryan, Carson Wentz, Colin Kaepernick, Joe Flacco, Alex Smith, Brett Favre. I know your plan is to point out numbers out of context but there’s plenty there to compare.
  17. There are QBs with numbers similar to Allen’s who have made it.
  18. The switch to darker colors was for TV bit HD/4K has obliterated that. Get teams to go to brighter colors and everyone do their own fonts/templates. There is more than one way to do a uniform. Not everyone needs block numbers and not everyone needs horizontal stripes.
  19. I feel the same way about using Reinhart to get Faulk. Would’ve considered giving him up for Hanifin. I would love to add Faulk if possible, though. I think he had just one sort of down year. I don’t feel it’s likely that’s who he is now.
  20. I don't think baseball holds up enough to own a month anymore. There's been wayyyy more coverage of preseason NFL and what LeBron's having for lunch.
  21. Maybe JP. Trent just suuuuucked. This is fine, and I agree. I'm sure there are guys who have been stunted by not starting but that's harder to prove (and probably far less frequent).
  22. I’m concerned about this but plenty of successful QBs, current and former, have had great success despite some early licks with bad offensive lines.
  23. Lamar Jackson has been really really bad. I hope he’s great (but not great enough for us to not beat) but so far it’s not a good start. Good thing he’s behind Flacco.
  24. I’m just not interested in it. I guess it’s not really that they’re little kids playing a sport. I don’t have a ton of time to watch sports so I reserve most of it for the teams I actively pull for.
  25. Because I don’t have any interest in either. Baseball was my first love but it’s dwindled in time. It’s has ups and downs but I hate when you can’t catch anything but LLWS or CWS on ESPN for several weeks.
