  1. They could always call Ralph Krueger...I hear he does wonders 😂
  2. I mean why do they even bother with some of these smaller countries? They should have to have a certain level of performance to make the tournament. Don't see the point of the 8-1 games or worse.
  3. Not won, dominated all 3 playoff games. We owe both of those teams. Colorado defeated us in the finals last year and Calgary defeated us in the finals in the previous season before COVID cancelled the league for 2 years in between. Bandits trying to avoid a Bills like 0-4 in their last 4 finals appearances, although they have won it numerous times, the last being in 2008. 0-3 since then tho. If they play the way they did in the first 3 playoff games this will be a laugher and not even close with them sweeping either team. The two week break in between doesn't help the momentum tho.
  4. It was over at halftime when they went up by 11-4. Toronto never got closer than 5 again. Watched the first game on ESPN+ and then listened to the second on WGR-550 as I was out and about.
  5. Let's Go Ban-dits!! Smoked the Rock in back to back games...14-5 and 17-8 after beating the Knighthawks 20-8. Outscored the opposition 51-21 combined in the playoffs or an average of 17-7. Domination. Heading back to the Finals and they look pretty unstoppable. They need to finish it off this time. Only thing that sucks is that they will have 2 weeks off as Calgary tied the series up against Colorado last night and their deciding game isn't until next Saturday which means the Finals won't start until the following week. Not great for momentum when they are on a serious roll.
  6. Why do NHL players die so young? That's almost 20 years younger than the general population's life expectancy for males. Seems strange although back then athletes didn't really take care of themselves the way they do today. Would expect that age to steadily increase as player starting in the late 90s began to really focus in on this.
  7. did they move up, down or stay the same based on where they finished in the standings?
  8. I'm not at all...he said he is really close with his brother and really looking forward to playing with him. May never get the chance again, why would you think he wouldn't jump at the chance?
  9. Agree...you can be physical without hitting a ton. Sabres are plenty big enough to be more physical if they want to.
  10. Based on how difficult it is to play defense versus offense and the fact he led all rookies in ice time since they began keeping the stat in like 2007?(I think that's the year they said), Power should win it. He likely won't because one put up points as a forward as his team made the playoffs and the other helped backstop his team to the playoffs with solid, albeit not spectacular numbers.
  11. Carolina is the 2nd least hitting team in the NHL and they seem to be doing fine...
  12. Give that dude tubs of weight gainer and tell him don't come back until you hit 185 at least.
  13. I would like to see a few tweaks to the D corp and maybe adding a forward, although we have a stockpile of young bucks appearing near ready, especially Kulich.
  14. He traded away a lot of them.
  15. Hahaha Boston goes out in the first round after the best regular season in NHL history. Didn't Tampa Bay also have a great regular season and go out in the first round a few years ago??
  16. I mean, not a bad strategy to try and maximize attendance. In situations where the margins aren't great for minor league teams I can't fault him.
  17. Only because Murray got impatient and started trading away all the assets the Sabres acquired for players that didn't work out instead of being more patient and letting them develop and draft well.
  18. I don't think so. He is a good player but I never once thought I was watching a future hall of famer.
  19. I'm not sure what the point is with Miller. He never scored more than 23 goals or had more than 58 points until he went to Vancouver and had 7 years in the league at that point. So yeah, he is outperforming his contract pretty largely now after a 99 point year followed by an 82 point year, but not even the biggest JT Miller fan would have predicted that.
  20. Maybe if Berglund would have worked the way Thompson has to improve he wouldn't have flamed out of the NHL.
  21. Hmm...he is listed on Audacy.com and on WGR 550 and lists his employer as WGR 550. He has also been travelling with the team again except for West Coast trips. If he is being paid by WIVB it seems a little strange... His articles on games are on WGR 550's website, he talks in the pregame, intermissions and post game on WGR and he has regular spots during the week on WGR. WGR is the official Sabres radio station. That is a lot of time and content for Audacy if he wasn't working for them directly.
  22. Your grade doesn't mean anything.
  23. Paul Hamilton follows them with WGR 550...we would still have one even if the newspaper didn't have one.
